Dear friends, partners, and everyone who believed in Loop.
It is with deep sadness that we share the news that the Loop Governing Board has made the difficult decision to permanently close the Loop charity and the Talk to Loop platform, across all countries and channels.
The current environment has made it financially impossible to continue delivering this collective service.
Before we close this chapter, we want to take a moment to reflect on what we built together across 8 countries.
In Somalia and Somaliland alone, in 2025:
- Loop received 163,408 pieces of feedback from communities
- 1,142 sensitive cases were handled safely and confidentially, resulting in word of mouth referrals and Loop being a trusted sensitive reporting channel for communities.
- 311 referrals for fraud or abuse were made to partner organisations
- 99% of people we spoke to who were referred through Loop, reported satisfaction with how Loop handled their case
- Loop accounted for 92% of all sensitive reports submitted to the inter-agency CFM aggregator in Q3 2025
- Communities reported in 6 languages, including minority languages such as Kizigua, Bajuni, and Benadiri
- 56 organisations were engaged and 39 onboarded across Somalia and Somaliland
We hope that the tools we built, the data we collected, and the learning we generated can be available for others to adapt and adopt. We are in the process of finding the best way to do this.
We are now focusing on closing things as efficiently and safely as possible - honouring all of our commitments to communities, staff, donors, partners, and all stakeholders.
