We are absolutely heartbroken to hear of the sad passing of Paxton Hood-Williams.

Paxton was a long standing Community Councillor for Upper Killay Community Council, alongside his role as City Councillor.

Paxton was also a dear friend to us all and he will be deeply missed.

Our thoughts are with his wife Patricia and his family.

Please read the following statement from Paxton Hood-Williams

Residents in Upper Killay have been watching with interest the work that has been going on in the corner of the pitch close to the children’s play area. Obviously, this has been the installation of a fantastic array of outdoor gym equipment.
The final piece of work, to put down the last layer of the ‘wetpour’ surface, was slightly delayed by the weather, but was completed yesterday. We are very grateful to the suppliers, as apart from the slight delay due to the weather, the installation went completely to plan, and we are grateful to the Sunshine Gym division of Broxap for the efficient way the equipment was installed. Full description of the equipment can be found on their website.
I am delighted that this £42,000 project, commissioned by Upper Killay Community Council, won’t cost the residents of Upper Killay a penny, as I was successful in obtaining grant funding, from Swansea City Council, to cover the full cost of providing this facility. I am truly grateful to the Council Officers that I worked with, who were so helpful in ensuring we got the grant funding, and the panel that approved the funding of the project.
Obviously, this equipment can be used at any time and can be used by any member of the community, regardless of age, and compliments the children’s play area alongside it.
Please use this equipment sensibly for your physical wellbeing, and maximise the benefits of the installation of this equipment.

We are aware there are numerous posts in regards to the cattle and sheep entering the village.

Firstly it's the responsibility of the landowners to protect their property from livestock. To prevent them from gaining access.

The land west of fairwood lane is designated common land.

A perimeter check has been conducted today.. Main road cattle grid is not passable by cows. All the fencing both sides is intact - no signs of animal tracks. The whole of our western boundary from the main road to the cattle grid at the end of Fairwood Lane is secure. Fence intact but very difficult to reach because of a 50ft barrier of trees, scrub and bramble. No evidence of any animals trying to breach it. A well-trodden cattle trail runs all the way along our boundary outside that scrub line. There is no evidence of anything getting through the scrub. Our cattle grid, gate and kissing gate all secure . A cattle trail across the triangle from the road leading to the cottages on the common looks a likely culprit but this is not our boundary.
