Here at Building Circles we know that sometimes people with Learning Disabilities and their families and carers can sometimes feel “cut off” or lonely. Building Circles are a charity that offers them the opportunity to enjoy a more fulfilling life. We train and support volunteers who offer friendship to people with learning disabilities and their families. It is our mission to provide life enhancing opportunities for socially isolated people with moderate to very complex needs. We aim to be a quality provider, ensuring excellent training and continuing support is given to volunteers to establish and maintain friendships with individuals and their families. We seek to extend opportunities for social interaction by offering a range of community activities for all participants.

Happy Halloween from all of us at Building Circles! Our TREAT was these fangtastic prints made by the art group and this brilliant (though quite terrifying) Jack-O-lantern made by our Prestbury allotment group.

Last week we had a leaving celebration for the wonderful Sarah, who has been the lead volunteer at our Stonehouse allotment since it started 3 years ago! Since then, Sarah has sprinkled her magic (and a few seeds) and created a warm and welcoming space to all who joined her there. To say we will miss her is an understatement, but we are so grateful for everything she has done and wish her a fruitful (and Vegetableful!) future.

This week we studied the work of Slovenian, modernist painter - Mikuláš Galanda. We looked at light and shade and how it creates contrast, these beautiful works are the result!

We would like to say a HUGE thank you to Bishops Cleeve Gardeners who donated a picnic bench to our Prestbury allotment! Also a big thanks to Dave from Bishops Cleeve gardening club for all his hard work building and putting it together for us. I'm sure we'll spend countless cuppa's and catch-up's around it in the years to come!

🏆A huge well done to our amazing team member Kathy for completing the Five Valleys Walk in aid of Meningitis Now, we're incredibly proud of her! After walking 21 miles in one day, she skipped into the office with a big smile on her face and barely a blister - that's our Kathy! 🏆

⚽Thankyou to Forest Green Rovers Football Club _official for generously hosting our buddy training on Sunday! We didn't put them through any drills, but we know they're match fit for volunteering. Well done everyone and welcome to team Building Circles! ⚽
