A day exploring Reykjavik 🇮🇸

We went to the top of Hallgrimskirkja, walked down the Rainbow Street and did plenty of souvenir shopping! 🛍️ Back at the campsite, we toasted marshmallows over a campfire and sang some new songs 🎶

More gorgeous waterfalls of Iceland 🌊

We really tested our waterproofs as we walked behind Seljalandsfoss 🫣 and some of us tested our legs as we rushed up to the top of Skógafoss (we only had 30 minutes at that stop!)

A (very) soggy walk to the hot springs! After the walk there, the Rangers enjoyed going in the springs - a strange experience when it's raining! We then walked back and warmed up with a hot chocolate ☕

Our last stop was Toronto.

On day one we went to Toronto Island for the day. We hired quadrikes which was good fun. We explored the island on the bikes before having lunch, going to Beavertails and playing on the beach. As a special treat we went night time paddleboarding to see the skyline from a different angle. It was a late night but definitely worth it.

Day 2 was another long day. We got up and headed to the subway to go to the CN Tower. We met up with some Girl Guides who were our tour guides for the day. After the CN tower we got sorted for the Blue Jays game. As leaders we'd been trying to learn about the rules and how it works. We were still clueless but just kept comparing it to rounders 🙈. There were just over 50 of us all together. After the match we all went to the park for cake as it was one of our girls' birthday!!

Day 3 in Toronto was our last day so we all had a lie in!! We went to the Blue Jays shop and explored the Eaton Shopping Centre before heading back to the accomodation to go to the airport.

We had an amazing once in a lifetime trip and couldn't have done it without the brilliant leadership team.

A bit belated but the rest of our travels (we've never stopped till we got home!!)

Next stop was Niagara Falls. What a jam packed few days we had.

Day 1 we got on a yellow school bus (one of the 2 wishes from the girls. The first was Walmart which we did in Carleton Place, second was going on a yellow school bus) and went to Fort George in Niagara on the Lake. We had a tour around by one of the soldiers before going to the Welland Canal in St Catherine's where Guiding started in Canada in 1910. We looked around the museum and watched a Viking City Cruise go through it. We had a picnic lunch on the canal. Freshly picked peaches which one of the Guiders got for us along with peach muffins and yoghurt. At this time every year it's peach season so a lunch of peaches was a must!! We had a trip to the outlet mall in the afternoon for some downtime before going for an unlimited pizza tea and then the rides including the big wheel which gave us our first views of the falls. There are fireworks every night at the falls so we went down to watch them. The fireworks are set off over the American Falls so we got a great view.

Day 2 was another early morning. Today was a day seeing the falls from different angles. We first did the White Water Walk where we went down to the water shore. We got some brilliant photos and saw how fast and high the waves went. Next was Journey Behind the Falls. We got soaked! We went underneath the Horseshoe falls and saw the speed of the water coming down. We then had some lunch before going for a look round the Power Station. We learnt that every minute you can fill 1 million bath tubs of water from the falls. Aero Car was the next on the list where we got an aerial view of the whirlpool. Last on the agenda was the Butterfly Conservatory. After dinner we surprised the girls with a treat of zip wiring at the falls. We all zip wired down to the falls in the dark when they were all lit up. When we got to the bottom we had to wait there until the fireworks had finished. We had an amazing front row seat to watch the fireworks which was spectacular. It was another late night but worth every minute.

Day 3 we were packed up and out to go and do the Niagara City Cruise to the falls. We nearly had the boat to ourselves!! Getting soaked is an understatement but we went into the mist of the falls. The water was nice and warm which is a bonus. After some shopping in the Niagara shops we headed back to get our bags before getting on the bus to Toronto. The girls were almost silent on the bus 😴😴
