A full-circle moment, seven years in the making……….🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Back in 2019, four Deveronvale girls earned international honours with BGC Scotland against BGC Wales.

The photo below features 2019s BGCS internationals Kirstin Harper, Caitlin Carnegie, Anna Grant and Gail Gilmour showcasing their Caps and winning shield to their Deveronvale teammates.

And there, right in the middle of the photo, is a young Sophie Munro, proudly holding the shield and pennant brought home from that years BGC international Vs Boys and Girls Clubs of Wales.

Fast forward to 2026……..and Sophie (pictured) has followed in their footsteps, earning a BGC Scotland cap of her own starring for our U15s vs Wales at Stenhousemuir.

From holding the shield to wearing the Scotland shirt - You never know who you might be inspiring. 👏🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Special mentions to 2018 cap Lucy Grant who also features in the photo along with current BGC Scotland Coach & Player Liaison Kirstin Harper who kindly supplied this photo.

Congratulations again to our BGC Girls International shirt raffle winners at our recent Cap Presentation at Stirling Court Hotel.

Natalie Glen-Nelson bagged a signed Scotland shirt which was collected on her behalf by her daughter - U15s star and Scottish Goalscorer Freya Glen-Nelson.

The second Scotland shirt was won by Helen Craig and collected by her Grand Daughter - Scottish 2 Goal hero and U15s star Lori Craig.

Finally, the Welsh shirt was won by BGC Wales U15s baller Lowri John.

The winning jerseys were presented by Andy Ruxton of Strathmore Water and BGCS Vice Chair David Taylor.

A huge thanks to our recent guest speaker Sarah Rhind.

Sarah attended our 2026 Girls Cap Dinner at the Stirling Court Hotel where she helped present the BGC international caps to the players and was interviewed by her friend, BGC Scotland Coach Clare Docherty.

Sarah openly discussed the story of her experiences with addiction, recovery, and how football and Street Soccer Scotland helped her rebuild her life.

All covered in detail in her own book titled “Scars Under the Jersey: Addiction, Loss and the Game I Love”.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿|🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 After losing two early goals our Boys 2026 U17s put in a valiant effort but just couldn’t get a foothold back in the game as Boys and Girls Clubs of Wales Boys U17s retained the BGC U15s trophy on Sunday at Afan Lido.

The boys ran themselves into ground against a very good Welsh side.

Well done to all involved.
