Diss District had a lovely afternoon celebrating friendship and 100 years of World Thinking Day this afternoon.

Every year on 22 February, we celebrate World Thinking Day.

We’re part of a bigger movement - the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) - and World Thinking Day is a chance for us to connect with 10 million Girl Guides and Scouts across the globe. And to shout about the amazing things we do.

World Thinking Day has a different theme every year for all the Girl Guides and Girl Scouts around the world to celebrate together. This years' theme for World Thinking Day is 'Our Friendship', and it's particularly special as it marks 100 years of World Thinking Day!

Thank you to all our volunteers in Diss for another year of keeping it turning 👏

🌟 Who keeps the world turning?

Not superheroes 🦸‍♀️. Not Santa’s elves 🎅. Not even the genius who invented Wi-Fi 📶.

It’s VOLUNTEERS 💙

👉 The ones who spend their evenings listening to “my hamster did the funniest thing today”… 27 times 🐹
👉 The ones who can tie 47 friendship knots in 3 minutes flat 🤝
👉 The ones who secretly Google the answers to the quiz they just set (we see you 👀)

We laugh 😆. We cry (mostly with laughter 😅). And sometimes, between the glitter ✨, giggles 🤭, and biscuits 🍪, we stop and realise:

🌸 We’re making a difference. One girl at a time 👧
🌸 We’re being the change we want to see in the world 🌍
🌸 We’re proving that change doesn’t have to be big – it just has to start 💫
