This year's national Trefoil Guild AGM is taking place at Scarborough Spa on Sat 13 June 2026. They are looking for some help with stewarding the visiting Trefoil Guild members from the railway station in Scarborough down to the Spa: it's around a 15 walk. Junior Warrior – our annual take over of the Total Warrior course at Bramham Park – is back for 2026! Junior Warrior is a muddy assault obstacle course over 3 kilometres - inflatables, nets, slides, water, mud!

When: Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 June 2026
Timeslots from 17:30 to 21:00
Where: Bramham Park (postcode LS23 6LT)
Cost: £18 per young person

University of York are running a FREE day of hands-on engineering workshops for Scouts and Guides on Saturday 28th March 2026.

Explore different aspects of engineering across four interactive workshops. Have a go at audio engineering, electronics, mechanical engineering, robotics, and medical engineering. From building vehicles and robotic arms, to creating your own electronic music, for the opportunity to work in teams, develop your problem solving skills, and learn more about what it means to be an engineer. This may be of interest for anyone looking at the new Engineering badge.

The Blue Light Theatre company are putting on a panto in the new year 'Owt O'this World' running from January 28 - 31 at The Folk Hall in New Earswick. All profits will go to Motor Neurone disease York Branch and York against cancer.

Leaders and supporters carol service

WHEN: Wednesday 17th December 7.30pm
WHERE: Holy Trinity Church, Goodramgate
WHAT: A traditional candlelit service for Scouting and Guiding leaders, members of Trefoil Guilds and the former Active Support units in the Scout districts of York Ebor and the Girlguiding county of North Yorkshire South. Family members are welcome.
The church has no electricity and in unheated so come dressed appropriately and bring a torch to read the service sheet! Following the service anyone interested can join for a Christmas drink, venue to be announced.

Scouts and Girl Guides at the University of York (SAGGY) have set up quick form for units to complete if they are in need of additional volunteers.

Funding may be available for units further away from the local universities and colleges, so if your unit needs volunteers please complete the form. It will help us collect an assessment of volunteer numbers across the county.

Please fill in the details below if you would like to be added to a list for a student volunteer. We have no idea how many students will be interested, nor what sections they are interested in, so allocations will just be done on best fit.
