Turingheads and Lloyd Cope Foundation has come together to help fund local leisure activities and interests. At the age of 11, I lost my father due to cancer. A man who was always helping and supporting others. Managed a football team, a full-time job, creating a business of his own, bringing up two young kids and still finding time for everyone in need. This is my way of trying to pass on support and awareness to these issues and help fund places where family members and people suffering can take their minds away from things and do what they love.
I'll never forget the day my father Lloyd Cope attended my football game, in-which he used to manage before he was diagnosed with cancer. He had multiple radiotherapy and chemotherapy at this point. But he still got up and attended a cold Sunday morning for my team and me to win the league potentially. He was loved by many and a memorial was put in place to celebrate his life and what he had done for the club. This is the reason I want to help.
Since I lost him, I've always wanted to create a way to help pay back or support people in similar scenarios. I've experienced family members, people I consider family and friends, lose their life to cancer. Generally, these people invested time and effort into either following their hobby or supporting someone else with there's.
The funds will be split between local physical education and activity centres involving football teams, dance schools etc. Any donation will be greatly appreciated and hopefully help these centres or organisations carry on running and providing people with reason.
In memory of;
Lloyd Cope, Terry Cope, Steve Brachmanski, David Lewis and anyone who has unfortunately lost their lives to cancer.
