St Mary's Twickenham

St Mary's Twickenham St Mary's is set in a delightful location on the banks of the River Thames in Twickenham. For centuries the church of St.

Mary’s has stood, beacon-like, upon the banks of the Thames, anchored in the soil of Twickenham, directing hearts and minds of generations toward the strange and holy business of our communion with our Creator.

Snapshots from our Summer Fair and Flower Festival.

Yes, it rained, but we still had fun as we re-imagined the 100 Acre Wood, on the 100th anniversary of the first published edition of 'Winnie-the-Pooh', and marked the 100th birthday of our borough's most famous living resident - Sir David Attenborough.

So Christopher Robin's fictional animal friends could be spotted in the flower arrangements, while the world's real wildlife was depicted in displays created by the children of St Mary's CofE School that filled the nave.

Spirits were lifted further by the sounds of Richmond Youth Jazz Band, and the world's wildlife was still very much in evidence framing the recital by Cristian Sandrin - pianist on Sunday evening!

Our Lent Discussion Groups start on Monday 23rd February!

We will be hosting another sequence of discussions about key aspects of the Christian faith, ideal for those wanting to ask questions and learn more about how Jesus calls us to love and to witness in His world.

This year we shall be looking at five key aspects of the life of St. Francis of Assisi, in this 800th anniversary year of his death. We hope they will help us consider our own experience of faith and following of Christ. We will also be considering how the Church invites us to experience different aspects of Jesus' ministry to us through the services which will be on offer during Holy Week.

Each of five evening sessions will take place on a Monday, beginning on 23rd February, starting at 7.30 pm in church. The evening will begin with a talk given by one of our priests, Jeff or Donna, followed by everyone joining discussion groups, then we take a break for refreshments, followed by a feed-back session and then a chance to reflect and pray together.

For those who prefer to meet in the afternoon, there will also be Lent Discussion Groups on the same themes held in the Church Vestry from 2.30 to 4 pm on:
Tuesday 24 February
Tuesday 3 March
Wednesday 11 March
Tuesday 17 March
Tuesday 24 March.

Do join us for as many of these sessions as you can - all are welcome!
