🏆 Time To Shine Awards 2026 🏆

We're delighted to be supporting the 2026 Time To Shine Awards, celebrating the achievements of children, young people and adults living with a disability or long-term health condition within the Borough of Richmond.

With a range of award categories available, it's the perfect opportunity to recognise someone who inspires you. 💛

If you've worked with or supported an individual whose achievements deserve to be celebrated, we'd love to see your nomination.

📢 New programme launching! 📢

We're thrilled to launch our exciting new 8-week part-time programme for adults with learning disabilities, aged 18 to 30, living in the London Borough of Richmond and surrounding areas.

Designed to build confidence, independence, and help participants feel better prepared for the world of work, this free, hands-on programme will give participants the chance to develop valuable life, social, and workplace skills in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Over the 8 weeks, participants will take part in:

✅ 8 work experience placements at our gallery

✅ 8 fun and interactive employability workshops

✅ 4 healthy cooking sessions

✅ 4 gardening/wellbeing activities

✅ 4 social outings and activities

The weekly commitment is 6 to 8 hours. The programme is completely free of charge for participants. 😊

Each sale commission raises much needed funds for The People Hive.

We have a regular Meet the Artist session in the gallery where one of our artists is available to chat to customers and may well be demonstrating their techniques. Two of our recent artists were Alex Bemrose 👩‍🎨 and sarah newson / Artist / Maker / Ceramics / Potter . Watch this space to see who will be November's artist.

🖌️ Art Competition! 🖌️

Each Wednesday, a dedicated group of stamp collectors and enthusiasts — The Stamp Detectives — meet at our gallery to sift through the huge stockpile of stamps we’ve gathered over the years. They now have more stamps than they can use, so they’re launching a creative challenge to give them a new lease of life. 🎨

We’re inviting you to take part in our Stamp Art Competition:

- Collect a free bag of stamps from our gallery (take one or two!) and transform them into an original piece of art 🖼️

- Create anything you like — an image, an object, a pattern, something abstract; let your imagination lead the way 💡

- Submit your finished piece by Monday 11 January 2027 📅

- The winning entry will receive a £100 People Hive gift card 🙌

🎨 Upcoming "Meet the Artist" Session! 🎨

Our "meet the artist" sessions provide visitors with the chance to meet our fabulous local artists and crafters in The People Hive gallery, have a chat and check out their latest creations. 🖼️

🕛 From 11am to 3pm.

We'll have the wonderful local artist Alex Bemrose showcasing some of her creations.
