With another heatwave approaching, it's important to know how to stay cool. Here are six ways to beat the heat and stay safe this summer:

Plan ahead for hot days, especially if you or others are at higher risk.
- Keep cool and hydrated
- Keep your home cool
- Check on others – look out for older people, young children, and anyone who may need extra support
- Know the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke – act quickly and seek help if someone becomes unwell.

💧 Visit a cool space, such as a library, shop, or community centre. You can find your local cool space here: https://itl.ink/d4bd6761

✒️This week, the Health Reform Bill entered the Committee Stage for detailed parliamentary scrutiny. Amid its progression, intense debate has surfaced within Parliament regarding the preservation of the independence of patient voice. Lawmakers are questioning how the public's lived experiences of health and social care will be structurally integrated and protected under the Government’s proposed framework.

💙Cervical Screening Awareness Week

Cervical cancer leads to around 685 deaths each year in England, but it doesn't have to. Cervical screening, formally called a smear test, is your early warning system that can detect problems before they develop into cancer. It is not a test for cancer - it's a test to try and help prevent cancer.

Women and anyone with a cervix aged 25 to 64, and registered with a GP, should be invited by letter to get cervical screening every five years. If you've had a positive HPV result before, you might be invited for screening more often.

You'll get an invitation through the NHS App, by text, or by letter asking you to make an appointment and telling you how to book. You can book an appointment as soon as you get an invitation.

May is Stroke Awareness Month 🧠⚡

Every second counts when it comes to a stroke. Spot the warning signs and take immediate action with the F.A.S.T. method.

Recognize the signs:
📍F for Face: Ask the person to smile. Does one side of the face droop?
📍A for Arms: Ask them to raise both arms. Does one arm drift downward?
📍S for Speech: Ask them to repeat a simple phrase. Is their speech slurred or strange?
📍T for Time: If you see any of these signs, it’s time to call emergency services immediately.

In the presence of those signs, call 999 right away.
Stay with the person. Keep them calm and do not give them food, water, or medication until help arrives.

Act FAST. You could save a life. 🚑
