A poem from an alienated child :

A House Full Yet Empty

I walk these halls of chatter and light,
Where shadows stretch through the endless night.
Faces surround me, their voices loud,
But I feel alone, lost in the crowd.

This house is full, yet hollow inside,
Where truth and love were forced to hide.
Stories whispered, crafted with care,
Built a wall I was too young to tear.

I was told to believe, to stand apart,
To bury you deep within my heart.
But in the quiet, I hear your name,
A soft reminder, a flickering flame.

Did you wait for me through the years?
Through broken promises, unspoken tears?
Did you hope I’d see through the lies,
And seek the truth behind my eyes?

I ache to tell you, though words may fall,
How I dream of breaking this endless wall.
To ask for your love, your hand, your grace,
To feel your warmth, to see your face.

Forgive the child who couldn’t choose,
Who lived in fear, with much to lose.
Forgive the heart that longs to repair
The bridge between us—fragile, but there.

For though the house may be full of sound,
It’s your voice I seek, your love unbound.
And when the silence finally breaks,
I’ll find my way, no matter what it takes.
