What a spectacular sunset over the Green yesterday evening! 🌅

The sky really put on a show for us with those stunning, burning colours. It is moments like these that remind us how lucky we are to have this beautiful open space right on our doorstep.

Did anyone else manage to capture yesterday's sunset?

After more than thirty years of dedicated service to our community, our long-standing committee member Howard Roberts stepped down from his role as Environment Officer at our September AGM.

Howard’s tireless efforts over the decades have been instrumental in transforming Twickenham Green into the highly popular, vibrant public space we all enjoy today. In his retiring speech, he reflected on the history of the Friends, the strong relationships built with local stakeholders, and his hopes for the future of The Green.

We are incredibly grateful for everything Howard has done. You can read his full farewell speech on our website here: https://fotg.uk/howard-roberts-retiring-envir/

Please join us in the comments to thank Howard (and his very patient wife, Sandra!) for their wonderful contribution to our community

Thank you to the nine adults (and one small person!) who turned up for our biannual litter pick on Twickenham Green. Not too much litter, but some broken glass and lots of cigarette butts by the benches. Our next community litter pick is in the spring - watch this space for further details!

🌳 Update on Twickenham Green 🌳

Like many parks and open spaces across our borough, Twickenham Green is currently suffering the effects of this summer's extreme heat and severe lack of rainfall.

Please be assured that the Friends of Twickenham Green are actively collaborating with the Parks department and other local groups to address the situation and care for the Green.

Watch this space for further updates as we work to improve matters.
