So, it’s official. The TN Card has new owners. BUT it’s still the same Card you know and love!

The TN Card was never about the people behind the scenes. It’s about bringing the local communities in the TN postcode together, whilst supporting local businesses.

We'll introduce ourselves very soon, once we wrap our heads around things.

A big announcement and a heartfelt thank you! After six busy, exciting and rewarding years, I have some news to share.

When I launched The TN card in 2020, my hope was simply to encourage us all to support local a bit more and shine a spotlight on the amazing businesses on our doorstep. I had four little boys aged 2, 4, 6 and 8, a small website I'd put together over Christmas, a pile of printed membership cards and a handful of businesses willing to give it a try.

Today, those boys are 9, 11, 13 and 15, and in many ways The TN card has grown alongside them too. We now have nearly 3,000 members and work with around 1,000 independent businesses across the TN postcodes. But it's the community behind those numbers that makes the TN card so special.

I am incredibly proud of what we've achieved together over the past seven years. We've helped support hundreds of brilliant independent businesses and raised £48,000 for West Kent Mind through TN card memberships and fundraising events. Together, we've made a real difference to a special charity that improves and saves lives across our community.

And now The TN card enters a wonderful new chapter. On Friday, I will hand over the reins to Dan and Carly, who will become the new owners of the business.

Dan and Carly wish to introduce themselves properly next week, but I know how much they care about our business community and I couldn't be happier to be handing The TN card over to them. They have an exciting vision for the future, are brilliantly creative, passionate about supporting local, and I can't wait to see what they do next.

Whilst I'm stepping away from The TN card, I'll still be championing local through The TN Awards Company. I'll be organising the Tonbridge Business Awards and Tunbridge Wells Business Awards this year and awards for Sevenoaks next year too. I'd love to stay in touch so please give us a follow on Facebook or Instagram .

My heartfelt thanks to every member, business owner, partner, supporter and friend who has been part of The TN card journey since 2019. You have helped create something very special.

And please give Dan and Carly the biggest welcome as they take The TN card forward to even bigger and better things, supporting local all the way.

Welcoming Blended to the TN card 🫶

We are very proud to welcome newly-opened coffee shop and bar, Blended, to our Southborough and Food & Drink directories, with members enjoying savings on pastries, cake and glasses of wine as a thank you for supporting local.

Southborough has been home to Tim, Cora and their five children for the past seven years, and their love for the local community sits at the heart of Blended. After spotting the beautiful Old Bank building sitting empty in Southborough, they decided to take the leap and create a space centred around great coffee, good wine and community.

After months of renovation, Blended opened its doors on 2nd February and has already become a much-loved spot with the Southborough community. Housed within the old bank building (complete with the original safe in the vault room), it is full of warmth, character and cosy corners to settle into.

The space includes the Bar, Gallery Lounge, Vault and Leopard Lounge. The Gallery Lounge showcases original African wildlife artwork by Sarah Rhiannon and is a brilliant spot for home workers, whilst the hidden downstairs Leopard Lounge is perfect for relaxed evening drinks.

Open seven days a week, Blended serves speciality coffee, teas, wines and cocktails throughout the day, alongside fresh food including pastries from The Sussex Kitchen, stuffed croissants, toasties, sausage rolls, cakes and cookies.

The café is open until 3pm Monday to Wednesday, with the bar staying open Thursday to Saturday evenings until 10pm or 10.30pm for relaxed drinks and catch-ups with friends. It’s also now open on Sundays from 9am to 3pm, making it an ideal spot for a laid-back weekend coffee or brunch. Guests can buy wines enjoyed in the bar to take home, and Blended has already started hosting wine tasting evenings and community talks too.
