🐾 Could anyone help us with a little woodland project? 🌳
Every week, Fran and I empty the dog waste bins at the Friends of the Fal Woodland. It’s not the most glamorous Friends of the Fal job 😂, but having the bins there has made a really noticeable difference to the amount of dog poo being left around the woodland and along the paths.
Unfortunately, our existing bins had become very badly rusted, so we applied to the Grampound Community Fund for help towards two replacements. Our application wasn’t successful, as the view was that people should instead be encouraged to pick up after their dogs and take the waste home.
Undeterred, one of our wonderful supporters, Sue, very kindly stepped in and donated two new bins to the woodland. 💚 Thank you, Sue!
We’d now love to give them wooden surrounds so that they sit a little more sympathetically within the woodland environment, something simple, rustic and practical that still allows us to easily remove and empty the bins.
Is there anyone locally who might be able to help us make them?
Perhaps you’re handy with timber, have some suitable offcuts tucked away, or simply fancy helping us with a small community project.
If you think you could help, please drop us a message. We’d be enormously grateful. 🌿
And thank you to everyone who already picks it up and bins it, you really make a difference to this lovely place we all share. 🐕💚
