Trowbridge Street Pastors

Trowbridge Street Pastors Caring, Listening & Helping, on the streets of Trowbridge on a Saturday night. Providing practical help and a listening ear, in a non-judgemental way.

We give out water, flip-flops and lollies. We have been doing this since 2009.

After two patrols were cancelled due to the bad weather, it will be good to get out on patrol again this Saturday night. Also this Saturday morning Trowbridge Street Pastors will be on marshalling duty at the Living Nativity in Trowbridge. We will be leaving The Civic at 11am, ending at St James' Church. All welcome.

We had a lovely time celebrating 15 years of Trowbridge Street Pastors last night. A massive thank you to everyone who has volunteered with our group over the last 15 years. You have done a wonderful thing for your community, helping, listening and caring for people.

Although it was a quiet night, in terms of disturbances, apart from an incident inside Zinc, the nightclub, which the Police attended, we had some good conversations on Saturday night. I always feel that that is sufficient justification for going out on patrol. Our motto is to be Listening, Caring and Helping, so being a stranger to whom people can speak, without judgement, is a very important part of what we do.

This Saturday night we will have a team of four out on the streets of Trowbridge. We will start off by visiting a bar where the owners requested we visit to check if any staff need to be accompanied back to their car. We'd appreciate your prayers for a quiet night and good conversations.

This post below was on Trowbridge Police's page. We didn't have a team out on patrol last Saturday night unfortunately but I'm told by the Police that this was an isolated incident so there is nothing to concern our team going out this Saturday night, 17 August.
Please do pray for the people involved with this assault and for our team, and all Street Pastors teams, as they go out on patrol this weekend.

Trowbridge Police:
Two people are in custody following a serious assault in Trowbridge in the early hours of this morning (10/08).

At around 1.30am, we received a report from the ambulance service that a man in his 30s had been assaulted in an alleyway near Castle Street following an altercation.

He has been taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Following local enquiries, a man in his 30s and a woman in her 20s have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

They remain in custody for questioning.

A cordon was put in place to allow for enquiries to be carried out and has now been lifted.

Please be reassured that the incident is thought to be isolated with the involved parties known to each other.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact us on 101 quoting log 20 of today’s date (11/08).

Saturday night was interesting, with a number of good conversations during our team's patrol around Trowbridge town centre. Two of the people said that talking to our team had been helpful to them. We are more than happy to be a listening ear to anyone in need. Sometimes people find it easier to talk to strangers about what is going on in their lives. One has even got in touch and would like to speak to one of our team again. We pray that this person would come to know Jesus for themselves.

Great to see a Response Pastor on the BBC News tonight, ready to help and support people in Southport.

This Saturday night, 3rd August, a team of 3 Trowbridge Street Pastors will be out on patrol from around 10pm until at least 2am, but probably later. As always, we will be looking out for people in need of help or a listening ear. We will also meet the last train at the train station. We ask God to protect our team and all those we meet. May we be Jesus' hands and feet in the town.
