Thank you to Home Instead Charities for all of their support with transport to our group sessions this year! 🌟

Making heart-warming moments a reality for older generations. 💜

Thanks to a grant from Home Instead Charities, The String of Hearts CIC has continued their commendable work supporting older adults through the power of music. 🎶

One attendee shared: “It’s given me confidence. I was beginning to feel down... but since going to String of Hearts, I’ve started mixing more with people where I live.” 💬

Lucy, CEO of String of Hearts, added: “Thanks to Home Instead Charities' support, we were able to help thirty isolated older adults from Broomwood, Sale West, and Brooklands access free transport to attend joyful, music-making sessions, helping them rebuild confidence, make new friends and feel part of their community again.”

Loneliness and isolation can affect older adults' mental and physical health. By funding these sessions, you are helping to restore joy, belonging and social connection - essential ingredients for a happier, healthier life.

Such an amazing collection of organisations supporting local people, from Home Instead Altrincham, Sale and Wythenshawe - Home Care & Live-in Care to Alzheimer’s Society and Trafford Carers. Thanks for having us ☀️

✨ Songwriting with care staff at Home Instead’s Care Pro Conference ✨

Home Instead Altrincham, Sale and Wythenshawe - Home Care & Live-in Care kindly invited String of Hearts to be part of their two-day conference for care staff last week, where we held songwriting activities celebrating the amazing work they do everyday.

It was brilliant to see the words and melodies everyone came up with in just two sessions! Congrats to all involved 👏

💛 Remembering Julie and Kathrine 💛

We’re deeply saddened to share the loss of two beloved String of Hearts members, Julie and Kathrine. Both caring and committed members of our community, they brought so much joy and warmth to everyone they met at our music sessions.

🎤 Julie absolutely loved singing and always knew everyone’s favourite songs! She lit up the room sharing her microphone with group members and performing on stage at Waterside Arts Centre with Trafford Council. She joined us in 2021 through our music phone calls project and later became a generous member of our advisory group.

🎶 Kathrine was full of energy, love, and care for others. We first met her in 2023 at a taster session where she lived, and from day one, she said she wanted to come every week. She soon brought friends along, wrote new songs, came on trips, and spoke powerfully about her experiences at our last showcase.

We will miss them both and are very grateful for the time we shared together. ❤️

We’re so grateful to Rudy's Pizza Napoletana - Sale for treating our String of Hearts group to free pizza & sweet treats last Friday 🍕

The Rudy’s Sale team also took the time to join in with the music session and meet our members, as part of a new community partnership we’ve formed.

Huge thanks to Mission Mars for making it happen!
