Not long to go now until our big announcement!

Tomorrow at 7pm! ⏰️

31/05/2026

It’s Sunday evening, it’s time to wind down, and we think there’s no better way to do that than by watching the Fruit Kittens having lots of fun. 🍓🍊🍌

It feels like only yesterday they were tiny little bundles of fluff, and now look at them!

There’s something special about watching kittens grow. Every toy becomes an adventure, every cardboard box is fascinating, and every day they seem a little bigger, braver and cheekier than the last!

Little Muller has headed off to foster care for some intensive socialisation.

As a stray kitten who has never known human touch, it’s incredibly important that we start building positive experiences with people while he’s still young. Once kittens get older, socialisation can become much more difficult, so we’re giving him the best chance possible to learn that people can be kind, safe, and the providers of all the good snacks.

So far, things are looking promising, and we’re hopeful that with time, patience, and plenty of treats, Muller will continue to grow in confidence.

We’ll keep you updated on his progress.

Today is World Foster Day!!!

When people think of animal rescue, they often think of the cats. The kittens. The happy adoption photos.

What they don’t always see are the fosterers behind them.

Not every cat that comes into our care has a foster home waiting. In fact, one of the biggest things limiting how many cats we can help is the number of foster spaces available.

Our fosterers are extraordinary people. They welcome complete strangers into their homes and hearts, often at very short notice. They take in frightened strays, heavily pregnant mums, tiny orphaned kittens, cats recovering from surgery, and those that simply need somewhere safe to land.

They celebrate every milestone, from the first purr to the first cuddle, and they pour endless love, time and patience into helping cats become ready for their forever homes. Then, despite how hard it can be, they say goodbye and do it all over again for the next cat in need.

And of course, we can’t forget our wonderful failed fosterers. The people who opened their homes temporarily and then realised they couldn’t imagine life without that cat. While we jokingly call them “failures”, they’re actually one of rescue’s greatest success stories. After all, there is no better recommendation than a fosterer deciding a cat is so special that they’re staying forever.

To every one of our fosterers, thank you. You are the reason so many of our cats get their happy endings. You are the reason we can say yes when a cat needs help. You are the reason frightened strays learn to trust, kittens survive and thrive, and so many cats find the families they deserve.

Quite simply, Hector’s House would not exist without you.

We are very happy to announce that Ralph has officially been adopted!

Although… the adopter turned out to be his fosterer.

After weeks of providing him with food, a warm bed, endless attention, and convincing themselves they were only temporarily looking after him, Ralph successfully completed his master plan. We suspect he knew exactly what he was doing from the very beginning.

Despite our best efforts to remind foster cats that they are meant to be finding other homes, Ralph clearly didn’t get the memo and decided he’d quite like to keep the one he already had.

Congratulations to Ralph and his newly promoted humans. We wish them many happy years together, although we suspect Ralph is mostly pleased that his staff contract has now become permanent! We are very happy for them all ❤️

Could Isabella be the missing piece of your family? ❤️

This gorgeous girl has been waiting ever so patiently for her forever home, and we just can’t understand why she’s still with us.

Isabella is the perfect mix of sweet, affectionate and charming. She loves being around her people, enjoys a fuss, and will happily keep you company throughout the day. She’s the sort of cat that makes a house feel like a home.

Like many of our cats, Isabella isn’t perfect on paper, but she is perfect to us. She deserves a family who can see beyond her age and medical needs and appreciate the wonderful little lady she truly is.

We know her person is out there somewhere. The person who will spoil her rotten, give her a warm spot to snooze, and love her exactly as she is.

Please help us find them by liking, commenting and sharing her adoption post.

Let’s find Isabella the forever home she deserves.

We received this amazing update for Syd and it is sad but amazing at the same time.

“We have unfortunately recently lost three of our cats, so now we only have Syd and Lily.

However, it's safe to say that since the others have passed, Syd has come out of his shell massively! He meows at me every dinner time and breakfast, when I get home from work and when he wants a cuddle. He is showing his true self and he's so funny!

Syd doesn't care where he is, or what position he's in, if he can sleep like it, he will! 🤣

Lily has gone from not liking him to now being his new best friend!

He's scared of going outside, but they're both permanently indoor cats now anyway. ☺️

He's very happy, cheeky and we love him more than words can say. ❤️

He is obsessed with the dog and our daughter too! He never fails to make me smile and laugh every single day. 🤣

Honestly, hand on heart, we couldn't live without him. He's not just a cat, he's my son. 🤣

We never thought we'd get accepted by a rescue with a dog and a child, but we're so grateful we did. He came just when we needed him and he makes our family whole. ❤️"

Updates like this mean the world to us. Seeing our cats become such a loved part of a family is exactly why we do what we do.

Thank you for giving Syd such an incredible home!!!

Good morning from Granny B

This adorable little lady is getting more and more confident every day. From cautiously finding her paws in foster to making herself completely at home, she’s proving that even the sweetest senior girls can blossom with a little love and patience.
