Did you know that all Sea Cadet Units are individual charities? βš“οΈ

We are entirely responsible for our own funding. Our amazing trustees work tirelessly to find funds to cover day-to-day running costs, keeping our lights on, our heating running, and our doors open.

Normally, training costs are passed on to parents and guardians. However, with the cost of living rising week by week, families are facing incredibly difficult choices.

As an organisation, we do our absolute best to mitigate these costs so no cadet misses out.We do this by applying for grants and seeking donations.

Recently, we received an incredible boost! We were contacted by ex-Cadet Davinder Hayer. After a long and distinguished career in the Royal Navy, Davinder wanted to give back to the very Sea Cadet Unit that set him on his career path.

His generous donation of Β£1000 will go towards much needed repairs to our building and also fund an activity or event chosen directly by the Cadets, Thank you so much, Dav Hayer ! Your support means the world to our current generation of cadets.

If you think you can help us continue to support the young people of Rhondda Cynon Taff then please get in touch we would love to hear from you.

A MASSIVE BZ to our newly qualified Drill Instructor PO Jones.

PO Jones becomes our Drill Instructor first for Rhondda Unit for many many many years, and showing that not only cadets are willing to push themselves on courses but our Volunteers are too.

PO Jones took time away from his work schedule to attend the week long course at Weymouth training Centre.

This will allow Rhondda Unit and its Cadets to continue to thrive and gain more valuable experiences.

Congratulations Petty Officer Jones πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

πŸŒ„ Rhondda Sea Cadets – 10K Through the Rhondda Fawr! πŸŒ„

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in yesterday’s 10k walk through the Rhondda Fawr. Our cadets, volunteers, and supporters showed incredible spirit from start to finish and thankfully, the rain only tried to stop us!

We’re especially grateful to Corps of Commissionaires (Corps Security) for their fantastic support. Your backing helps our young people take on challenges like this with confidence, teamwork, and pride in their community.

Every step taken helps strengthen Rhondda Sea Cadets and the opportunities we can offer our cadets. Diolch yn fawr to all who joined us or braved the weather alongside us.

Proud of our cadets. Proud of our valley. Proud of our community. πŸ’™βš“

⏰ LAST CHANCE TO SUPPORT OUR 10K FUNDRAISER! πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈπŸšΆβ€β™€οΈ

This Saturday, our cadets and staff will be taking part in the Corps Veterans Association 10K Walk to help raise money towards a brand-new minibus for our unit. πŸ’™

This minibus would create more opportunities for our cadets, allowing us to attend events, trips, training exercises, and community activities more easily in the future.

We’re asking everyone in our local community to help support us by donating or simply sharing this post to help spread awareness. Every donation β€” big or small β€” genuinely makes a difference and brings us one step closer to reaching our goal.

Thank you to everyone who has already supported us so far. Your support means a huge amount to both our cadets and staff! πŸ‘

We’re incredibly proud to be teaming up with the Corps Veterans Association as part of their campaign πŸ™Œ

This fantastic group of veterans continue to give back by supporting cadet units like ours β€” and we’re grateful they’ve chosen to support Rhondda Sea Cadets πŸ’™

On Saturday 16th May, members of the CVA will be leading a 10km sponsored walk from Treorchy Cemetery to Tonypandy War Memorial πŸ‘ŸπŸ‡¬πŸ‡§
Our cadets will be joining them along the way, showing support for those who are going the distance for them.

This isn’t just a walk β€” it’s a huge step towards raising Β£10,000 for a new minibus 🚐
A minibus that will open up opportunities, remove barriers, and support every cadet.

We’d love your support:
