Therapy tent?
Not quite.
Not counselling either.
More like somewhere to breathe for five minutes when Pride gets a bit… well… peopley. 🌈😂
If you’re anything like me, you can absolutely LOVE being around people… right up until your social battery flashes red and your brain decides it’s time to process every conversation you’ve ever had since 1997.
So this year, I’ll be running The Listening Ear Wellbeing Area at Tonbridge Pride alongside some of my favourite counsellors and wellbeing humans.
No appointments.
No pressure.
No analysing your childhood.
Just a genuinely welcoming space where you can pop in, have a chat, ask questions, or simply sit quietly for a while before heading back out to enjoy the festival.
There’ll be plenty to get involved with too…
🎨 Create part of our community collage.
🎭 Decorate a mask.
🪨 Paint a kindness stone.
🪣 Add something to the “F**k It Bucket” and leave it behind.
🤝 Make a Helping Hand message for someone who might need a reminder they’re not alone.
📿 Create your own worry bead bracelet.
❤️ Meet some therapists who definitely don’t fit the stereotype.
Because therapy doesn’t always look like a clipboard, a nod and someone asking, “And how does that make you feel?”
Sometimes it looks like sitting side by side with a stranger while painting a stone.
Sometimes it looks like laughing while sticking glitter absolutely everywhere.
Sometimes it looks like quietly writing something you’ve been carrying for years… folding it up… and deciding you don’t want to carry it around for the rest of the afternoon.
Whether you’re 5 or 95, coming on your own, with your mates, your partner, your kids or your family, everyone is welcome.
You don’t need to be struggling.
You don’t need to have a diagnosis.
You don’t even need to talk.
Come because you’re curious.
Come because you fancy making something.
Come because you need five minutes of calm.
Or come because you’ve always wondered what therapy actually is and you’d like to meet some therapists who wear Converse, laugh very loudly, eat haribo, drink too much fizzy pop, and believe that people aren’t broken.
We’re here to remove the stigma, start conversations and remind people that asking for support is a strength, not a weakness.
So if the music gets a bit loud…
The crowds get a bit much…
Or life simply feels a little heavy…
Come and find us.
We’ll save you a chair.
