🌞 Stay Safe Around Water In Tonbridge and Malling

During this heatwave and throughout the summer, it can be tempting to cool off in lakes and rivers — especially for children and young people.

However, swimming in open water can be extremely dangerous due to hidden hazards, cold water shock and strong river currents.

🚫 Please remember unauthorised swimming is not permitted in public lakes at Haysden Water or Barden Lake at Haysden Country Park - Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council has no designated bathing-water sites for public use.

✅ Stay safe by sticking to designated areas or local swimming pools like Larkfield Leisure Centre or Tonbridge Swimming Pool. If you are around water supervise children closely, and keeping well away from the water’s edge.

We want everyone to enjoy our parks, footpaths and trails safely this summer 💚
