This week we said thank you and goodbye to Lucy our volunteer. Join us on Wednesdays from 5:45pm - 8:00pm for a night of fun activities if you're aged 11+.

We appreciate that there isn't a lot going on at the centre for younger children, Karate starts at age 4, Rugby t***s were there but due to lack of numbers they had no alternative than to end the provision.
If ANYONE knows of anyone that would like to run a parent/toddler group, the centre is available all day Monday, and all day Friday, I have been trying to get playgroups there for a while tbh, but to no avail, so we are appealing for help to try and introduce this provision, would any of the people asking for this be prepared to take on the running of a parent /toddler group ? There is also availability on a Tues morn, wed pm, Thurs pm ??
If anyone has any ideas. Please reach out.

Just an update to clarify the usage of the centre Firstly, I would like to explain that the Centre is owned by CISWO, a registered charity, and run by trustees.
Usage is as follows:-
MONDAY DAY.... free
MONDAY EVENING evening ...karate mixed class of children and Adults.approx 25 attendees
TUESDAY DAY...pm WI, approx 45 attendees
TUESDAY EVE, currently free but we are awaiting confirmation from YEPS about starting youth club.
WEDNESDAY am..Valley veterans drop in, assistance with benefits, housing, MIND counselling sessions.
WEDNESDAY EVENING ...YEPS, approx 45 to 60 children
THURSDAY am..Valley veterans breakfast club
THURSDAY 12 till 2pm Warm hub
THURSDAY eve... karate children class 6.30, then an adults class
FRIDAY currently free all day
FRIDAY EVE every 2 weeks ..cancer support group.
PARTIES:- the centre is available on Saturdays and Sundays for parties, you are able to arrange your own entertainment, and bring your own food, all we ask is that due to Trade waste limitations, that you take your black bag rubbish home with you. The centre is opened approx 1hr before the start, and closed an hour after party finishes, so party 12 till 2, the centre is yours from 11 till 3. The charge is £60 for the 4hrs.
The 3g is well used, but there are slots available almost every day. It can't be used after 8pm, and this agreement was put in place with local residents when the building was refurbed approx 11yrs ago.
The centre does need volunteers, 10yrs ago, they were able to open in the days and evening as there were approx 40 volunteers, currently we have 4, and 2 of these also work full-time.
Volunteers, could support the YEPS programme, maintain the 3g, maintain the sports hall, maintain the car park, do a farmfood shop for cans, help with cleaning, bookings, opening and closing for parties so if anyone has any spare time, please contact me directly on 07949298424, my name is Sian. We can get together, and devise a support plan going forward to better support the centre, and anyone that uses it. I know that some people have already responded to a post put up by Brian, and we are very grateful for his support. Just to let everyone in the area aware that the centre is having the solar grant starting on Monday scaffolding has been begun to be erected today, the company are working around everyone that uses the centre, so there shd be minimal disruption, but there will be delivery vans/lorries etc back and forth, so parking outside the 3g will probably be the biggest disruption, could we politely ask that if you have vehicles parked outside the 3g, that they be parked elsewhere please, as we will not be responsible for any damage that may occur. This grant has been funded by Welsh Government, and will make a huge difference to the running costs of the centre. The work is expected to take approx 8 weeks. Due to working around everyone that uses the centre, works will be carried out on weekends, as well as weekdays when the centre isn't in use.

Are there any local tradespersons/individuals that have a ladder that we can borrow to make some repairs to loose bolts on the 3g pitch please ? It has to be tall enough to reach the top of the 3g, I know this is cheeky, but none of us have vehicles that can carry the ladder, so would anyone be kind enough to lend us one and drop it off please 🙏 TIA

We are absolutely delighted to announce that we have been successful in gaining funding on behalf of Ton and Gelli Community Centre for renewable energy installation, upgrades to all lights inside the property and the floodlights on the 3g pitch with electric charger points in the car park. This funding will make a great benefit to the energy costs in the Centre as well as helping the environment. Thank you so much to and Welsh Government for funding us, we are sincerely grateful

For all your party needs, give us a call, hall hire is £30 per hour, no charge for setting up and clearing away time, hire your own entertainment, we recommend Mini Mayhem for all your bouncy castle needs, lots of different packages available, bring your own food and just enjoy the lovely space.
