Excellent support from The Oystercatcher for the RNLI Tighnabruaich Otter Ferry fundraiser last weekend helped raise £976 with a further £353 in the RNLI pop-up shop.

With some stalls indoors, supporters braved the drizzle to enjoy the dog show and treasure hunt, and Stormy Stan came to thank everyone for supporting the charity that saves lives at sea.

The fundraising schedule is full tilt over the summer with the next event on 13th June when Joe Dolden will set out on an ultramarathon - you can read about and support his efforts via this link https://rnli.org/news-and-media/2026/may/10/100km-fundraising-run-for-the-rnli

The bank holiday weekend has arrived and with great weather forecast it seems the perfect time to post this water safety reminder.

‘Float to Live’ could save your life.

Remember:
- Tilt your head back with ears submerged
- Relax and try to control your breathing
- Use your hands to help you stay afloat
- It's okay if your legs sink, we all float differently

Practice these steps at a supervised location, like a swimming pool or lifeguarded beach so you know what to do in an emergency.

Remember the station shop is open Monday to Saturday from 11am - pop in and say hello to the lovely volunteers!
