A huge thank you to a very special family who wanted to give back after their son received wonderful care during his stay in ICU at Raigmore Hospital. Thanks to their generous donation, Helpful Hugs has been able to provide 30 phone chargers for the ICU ward to help patients and families stay connected during difficult times.

We have also supplied 10 emergency toiletry packs for the ward and will continue to provide these whenever needed.

Small comforts can make a big difference, and we are so grateful to everyone who supports our work and helps us support others 🌈🐭 x

We would like to say a huge thank you to the Thurso United Reformed Church for their generous donation of £158, collected during their Easter Praise service.

We’re proud to share that Helpful Hugs has donated phone charging cables to the children’s ward at Raigmore Hospital and the A&E department at Caithness General Hospital.

In stressful and uncertain moments, being able to contact loved ones can make all the difference. These small items will help ensure that patients and families can stay connected when they need comfort the most.

Sounds like fun 🎶

Our next gig is not too far away. We are playing in Reay Hall on 9 May.

The Caithness Big Band will be raising funds for the wonderful Helpful Hugs who provide boxes of toiletries for parents whose children have been rushed to Raigmore at short notice and therefore have no bags packed, etc. These boxes have helped over 120 familes so far and all monies raised on the night will go towards the purchase of the many items that the boxes contain.

So come along and boogie the night away or sit back and enjoy the tunes and vocals of the swing era. Entry by donation.

Thank you so much to the Caithness Junior Orchestra (caithnessmusic.com) who held a concert with all their very talented junior musicians yesterday and raised a fantastic £260 at the door. Today we received a message that truly touched us🩷

Reading this means everything to us. This is exactly why we started Helpful Hugs. To be there for families during some of their hardest moments, offering not just essentials, but comfort, care, and a reminder that they are not alone.

We are so incredibly grateful to everyone who has donated, supported, and believed in us. Because of you, we are making a difference and we are doing exactly what we set out to do.

We are absolutely over the moon to share some incredible news 💖.

As you all know we reached out to local businesses and supporters to help fund Croyde sleeper chairs for the children’s ward at Raigmore Hospital.

With the amazing support we received, and thanks to Raigmore securing a fantastic deal, the funds we received are now able to provide ALL remaining 16 chairs needed, so there will be one for every bed space in the ward 🙌

This means so much more than just furniture. It means parents can now lie down and sleep comfortably beside their child during what can be some of the hardest times. That comfort, closeness, and support is truly priceless.

To every company, donor, and supporter who helped make this happen THANK YOU!! You have exceeded all expectations and made a real, lasting difference. We are truly lost for words 🌈🐭 x
