On the 27th of October, I was invited along to for the opening of the newly refurbished Coach house or, as some will remember it, the Venture Den.
This building was originally restored by the Badbrook Ventures back in the 1980s. This space was where weekly meetings were held and where many camps trips and expeditions began.
Having spoken to original Badbrook venture scouts and leaders, the restoration is both sympathetic to retain the original scouting character but created a modern, usable space to help stroud valley into the future.
I was honoured to be invited, and it was great to see such a good turnout. We also got the opportunity to recognise some long service awards.
