What did we get up to at Rockits this week?
Our New Horizons friends had a lovely time decorating (and eating) cupcakes with their carers, music classes were back, Nanny Rockits baked new cakes and we made lots of wonderful memories at our classes and stay and plays.
We celebrated two wonderful birthdays, the home-ed Rockiteers group had a science STEM ambassador visit and the CIC funded a play session for a local SEN class.
This week our theme for stories and crafts was the story of The Three Little Pigs…this week it’s Goldilocks and the Three Bears!

Don’t tax children to play!

✋ DON’T TAX CHILDREN TO PLAY!

Children’s Play is a RIGHT, not a luxury.

Association of Indoor Play (AIP) are calling for 0% VAT on children’s indoor play in the UK.

Support our campaign and make play more accessible for every child.

The recent announcement by Chancellor Rachel Reeves to reduce VAT to 5% over the summer to make indoor play more accessible to families is a significant step in the right direction. 💪🏻 We genuinely believe this is a direct response to the tireless work, campaigning and evidence presented by AIP over many years about the benefits of play to children's development.

The campaign continues, and we will keep fighting until children's play is recognised for what it truly is – an essential part of childhood, not a taxable luxury.

Thank you to Josh Newbury MP for joining AIP as an advocate in Westminster supporting our campaign.

Join us at Rockits 1.15-2.15 for cupcake decorating in the cafe! All sensory rooms will be open too as we have private hire of the centre for the whole hour.
The event is free of charge (supported by our CIC) but please book your space so that we know you’re coming.
