The Afghan Telford Community took part in yesterday’s Interfaith Council meeting in Telford, representing the Afghan community.

It was a great opportunity to sit with members from diverse communities and local authorities, discussing important issues that affect our community and exploring ways to build a more connected and supportive Telford for everyone.

ابراز تسلیت و حمایت از زلزله‌زدگان افغانستان

با قلبی مملو از اندوه، حادثه‌ی زلزله مورخ ۳۱ آگست ۲۰۲۵ در ولایات کنر و لغمان را که جان‌های عزیز بسیاری را گرفت و خانواده‌های زیادی را زخمی و بی‌خانمان ساخت، تسلیت عرض می‌نماییم. مراتب همدردی عمیق ما به خانواده‌هایی است که عزیزان‌شان را از دست داده‌اند، و برای شفای عاجل تمام زخمی‌ها دعا می‌کنیم. 🕊️🙏

در پاسخ به این فاجعه، کمیونیتی افغان‌های تیلفورد همراه با حمایت برخی دیگر از افغان‌های منطقه ما، باهم گرد هم آمدند و کمک‌های نقدی را به عنوان نمادی از وحدت و همدلی جمع‌آوری نمودند. 💞

امروز این وجوه به نمایندگان مورد اعتماد ما در کابل ارسال گردید تا با مسئولیت کامل در خرید ادویه و سایر اقلام ضروری برای زلزله‌زدگان به مصرف برسد.

گرچه این کمک اندک است، اما بیانگر تعهد مشترک ما برای ایستادن در کنار مردم‌مان در زمان‌های سخت و آوردن حتی پرتو کوچکی از امید در این روزهای دشوار می‌باشد.

🤲 خداوند (ج) به خانواده‌های متاثر صبر و به جان‌باختگان رحمت بی‌پایان عطا فرماید.

Condolences and Support for Earthquake Victims in Afghanistan

We are deeply saddened by the devastating earthquake on 31st August 2025 that struck Kunar and Laghman provinces of Afghanistan, claiming precious lives and leaving many families injured and homeless. Our heartfelt condolences go to the families who lost their loved ones, and we pray for a speedy recovery for all those who are injured. 🕊️🙏

In response to this tragedy, the Afghan Telford Community, together with support from other Afghans in our area, came together to collect donations as a symbol of unity and compassion. 💞

Today, the collected funds were sent to our trusted representatives in Kabul, who will ensure the money is used responsibly for purchasing medicine and other essential items needed by the victims.

While the amount may be modest, it reflects our shared commitment to stand with our people in times of hardship and to bring even a small ray of hope during these difficult days.

🤲 May Allah (SWT) grant patience to the affected families and mercy to those who lost their lives.

A proud moment for our Afghan Telford Community as our boys joined players from different backgrounds at Lilleshall Cricket Club for a fantastic cricket day filled with team spirit, unity, and friendship. 🌍❤️

🏏 Proud Moment for the Afghan Telford Community! 🇦🇫✨

We are delighted to share that a few talented young members of our Afghan Telford Community recently took part in a local cricket match — and emerged as winners! 🏆👏

Although we do not have an official Afghan Telford cricket team, our boys are proudly representing our community through Lilleshall Cricket Club, and making us proud on and off the field.
