Telford Children's Autism Hub

Telford Children's Autism Hub Our service is available to children and young people 0-18 who have a diagnosis of Autism or on the pathway to an Autism Assessment.

The hub is based at Hazledine House in Telford Centre. It provides peer support for families, activities for children and young people and their families, training workshops and opportunities for children and young people diagnosed with autism to aspire, develop and have access to community centred support. This is a local offer for families and young people living in Telford & Wrekin.

Hello Hub Families!

We’re excited to be planning a special summer outing for our Girls Group (Year 6 to Year 13) to enjoy a magical theatre experience together! 🎭💛

Join us on Friday 31st July 2026 for the 11:00am performance of Matilda the Musical at Theatre Severn. This relaxed and friendly group trip is a great opportunity to connect, have fun, and enjoy a fantastic local amateur production in a supportive environment.

🌈 A welcoming space
🎶 A brilliant show full of music and heart
👭 A chance to make new friends

🎟️ Tickets cost £10.25 per person.
⚠️ Young people must be accompanied by an adult.

Tickets are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Hello Hub Families

We would like to invite our registered girls to our Online Girls’ Social Group for Years 6–13, a friendly and relaxed space to chat, make friends, share ideas, and build confidence from the comfort of home.

📅 Tuesday 16th June
⏰ 5pm to 6pm
💻 Online

This group has been created in response to feedback from families, specifically to support girls who are not currently in school and unable to attend our regular face-to-face sessions. It’s all about connection, understanding, and feeling part of a supportive community.

🌱 Aims:

To provide a safe, inclusive, and supportive space
To encourage social interaction and friendship-building
To help build confidence and self-esteem
To offer a space where girls feel heard and valued

✨ Outcomes:

Increased confidence in social situations
Improved communication and peer connection
A sense of belonging and reduced isolation
Opportunities to share experiences and support one another

📩 How to book:

Hello Hub families!

We’re looking forward to welcoming you to our DUGOUT youth group and wanted to share details of our upcoming session for our young people aged 11 to 18 years.

📅 Date: Thursday 4th June
⏰ Time: 5pm – 6:30pm
📍 Location: Family Zone, Suite 12 & 15 Hazledine House, Central Square, Telford Centre, Telford, TF3 4JL

🎨 **Creative Activity: Make Your Calming Bracelets & Sensory Tubes**

Join us for a relaxing, hands-on session where young people can design and make their own calming bracelets and sensory tubes.

This will be a supported, hands-on activity with help available throughout. Participation is always optional, and everyone is welcome to join in at their own pace.

⚽ Multi-Sport Activities

We are pleased to welcome Embrace, who will be delivering inclusive, optional multi-sport sessions suitable for different abilities and comfort levels.

🎯 Games Available

Young people will also have access to:

• Pool
• Table tennis
• Table football
• Board games and UNO (a club favourite)
• Quiet/chill space

We are also really excited to have our **NEW AIR HOCKEY** table and can’t wait for our young people to try it out!!

ℹ️ Important Information

• This group is for young people aged 11–18
• Parents/carers stay for the duration of the session
• Siblings are very welcome
• Free refreshments will be provided for young people and parents
• Young people can take breaks, observe, or leave early if needed
• No pressure to talk or join in
• Young people must be registered with the Children's Autism Hub to attend

DUGOUT is a calm, autism-friendly environment with no pressure to socialise or participate. Our aim is to provide a safe and predictable space where young people can feel comfortable being themselves, with a choice of activities such as games, sports, creative options or a quiet space, all supported by experienced and understanding staff.

As always, our usual activities will also be available, including:

We’re excited to launch a fun and welcoming Dungeons & Dragons group for autistic children and young people aged 8–18!

Through collaborative storytelling and imaginative play, sessions will help participants develop:
✨ Social skills
✨ Communication
✨ Problem solving
✨ Confidence and friendships

Whether your child is completely new to D&D or already loves fantasy adventures, everyone is welcome in this safe and supportive space.

Join us on Thursday 28th May, 11:00am – 12:00pm for an exciting Soft Archery Session led by Army Engagement. It’s a great chance to try something new, build confidence, and have fun with friends.
