Support Our Troops Support for the troops in Afghanistan and support for Forces Charities The more we get the more we send..

We are a Local Voluntary Support Group on Teesside,who send parcels to the troops who are in AFGHANISTAN. We also raise funds for S.S.A.F.A (Forces Help) and the Royal British Legion who are National Charities,but are Locally based. We send Parcels Monthly ( except December) and anyone can contact us if they feel able to help us do this.

With the Demise of our Team We are no longer Able to Sell Poppy Pins on behalf of the Royal British Legion. however these Pins will be available for Sale in Middlesbrough Centre, from Tomorrow (Monday), by Volunteers working for the Legion, These should be Very Hard To Miss, as for the last few years they have been outside WH Smith..in the Cleveland Centre..

Have just returned from a visit to Albert Park Memorial garden, where Madge and I tidied up, and washed the Support our Troops "Afghanistan Memorial Stone". Whilst in the area we also looked at the display of Poppies made by various local schools and laid out in the flower beds fronting the main park gates.."Magnificent EFFORT kids" , and well done Schools......

Tomorrow ( Tuesday) we will be going to see Col Black, to hand over £50 (42 raised on Blind card ) plus £8 donations. This will complete all our Tasks. Thank you all once again.

Tonight (saturday) Madge held a Blind Card. with the prize of a Poppy Cushion that was specially made for support our troops the card raised £42 which will be donated to the Royal British Legion...Well done Madge

Support our Troops have two more collections in the pipeline both on behalf of The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. We will NOT be involved with anything other than this. Please when the time comes SUPPORT this very worthy cause, the Legion deserve's your HELP.

Just a few more little Tasks to complete, 1. Smash the S.O.T. piggy bank, and give the remaining cash to an Army charity. 2. Raffle a Poppy Cushion made for S.O.T., Again ALL proceeds to a Military Charity. Details will be posted as and when completed.
ANN, MADGE, KAREN, JIM, and JW LANDESS, Thank you all for your Time, Sending Parcel's to the TROOP'S was a very worthwhile Job. You helped to bring a little Comfort and sometimes a Smile to an
Unknown Service Man/Woman, who very much appreciated your efforts. And let's not forget the DOG's, although they must have made a hell of a racket with all the Squeaky toy's, we sent.
Last but most important the People of TEESSIDE, Your Support was Fantastic. Tomorrow see's the Dissolution of Support our Troops after a numbers of years of hard but worthwhile work, all given Voluntarily.
A SAFE RETURN TO ALL OUR TROOPS AT THE END OF THE YEAR.

At the end of this month June 2014 after 6 years of Sending Parcels to the Troops in Afghanistan,Support our Troops as a group will cease to exist.We have all taken the greatest pleasure and pride in Supporting our Forces,and we pledged to support them until their return home. This WILL happen towards the end of the year,and as things stand they are busy removing all the camps and equipment back to the U.K. Once again I would like to thank everybody who took the time to Support us, without your help it would have been impossible. As well as the regular Team there were exceptional Volunteers who were willing to give up their spare time to Assist.
A VERY BIG THANK YOU TO YOU ALL.
As part of our final task we will be at the YARM CHARITIES FARE on Sunday 15 2014 collecting on behalf of the A.B.F (the Soldiers Charity ) and after that our FINAL batch of Parcels to post to Afghanistan.
