We are called to live and love as Jesus did, to go to the hardest places, stand with the most vulnerable, and refuse to accept lives being destroyed by extreme poverty. We tackle poverty and injustice through sustainable development, by responding to disasters and challenging injustice. Thousands of people needlessly suffer and die every day because of poverty. But that’s not God’s plan for the wo

7.8 million people in need. 15 years of conflict.

In the first half of 2025 alone, 2,266 lives were lost to conflict, already surpassing the number for all of 2024. 💔

In Nigeria’s Middle Belt region, the combination of climate crisis, land scarcity, and insurgent violence has forced families into a fight for survival. But your support is changing the narrative from trauma to transformation.

Swipe to see how your generosity and the love of Jesus in action are changing lives for communities in Nigeria. ➡️

Where does love lead you?

For us, it leads to the heart of the world's hardest places. It leads to communities rising above poverty and conflict. It leads to the restoration of hope where it was once dimmed.

Jesus didn’t stay at a distance. He moved toward the pain to restore what was broken. We follow his lead, entering into the world's most challenging situations so that no one is forgotten and no community is left behind.

Join us where the barriers fall, and possibility stirs.

Tearfund. Where love leads.

There’s a lot to face in the world today. Nehemiah reminds us to do two things:

1. To grieve - to give ourselves the space to work through our emotions and feel them fully.
2. To meet with God - from that place of emotion, we can step forward and bring our full selves before God.

This week, try praying that when you hear difficult news, your first instinct is to sit with God, acknowledging the weight of it without being crushed, and handing that weight to him.

Tune in next week when we talk about finding your anchor in the currents, or save this post for later ⚓

A deadly Ebola outbreak is tearing through the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

As of 27 May 2026, 240 people have died, believed to be from Ebola, with more than 1000 suspected cases. And the numbers are growing fast.

God calls us to show compassion for our neighbours near and far. His love leads us to respond in times of crisis.

Your donation will help Tearfund, our partners, and local churches provide life-saving hygiene supplies and help communities prevent the spread of this virus. https://f.mtr.cool/drpeyfphwx

How do we respond when the world is hurting? 🌍👇

Our hearts are broken by escalating conflict, health crises, and extreme poverty around the world. But what can you do for people in desperate need so far away?

Prayers go where our feet can’t. When suffering feels too much to bear, we can bring our hearts to God and lift up our global neighbours.

You’ve heard the story of the wise man who built his house on the rock. When we build our foundation on God’s strength, we are able to weather the storms of bad news and global crises while standing up for justice.

How can you do that?

That’s what we will be exploring over the next few weeks. If you want a head start, head to tearfund.org/foundations to find out how Nehemiah’s grief teaches us how we can avoid the doomscroll spiral.

An Ebola outbreak has been confirmed in Ituri, DRC – an area already facing severe conflict and poverty. With a strain that has no cure, numbers are rising rapidly.

So far:
- 177 deaths reported
- 750 suspected cases

Tearfund has worked in Ituri for ten years and knows how devastating this can be. We are moving fast.

‘We can waste no time in mobilising faith leaders to prevent the spread of Ebola. Pastors are already spreading vital advice on handwashing, symptoms, and safe burials to curb the disease.’ Poppy Anguandia, Tearfund’s Country Director for DRC

Tearfund’s WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) teams are already at health centres and border points delivering life-saving supplies and prevention support.

But we need your help to protect these communities. Please donate today to support our emergency response. 👇

Following the recent outbreak of Ebola in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, there have been over 750 suspected cases and 177 deaths reported.

Please join us in prayer for those who are suffering. Also, remember the faith leaders and staff who are actively working to prevent further infection, as well as responding to those who have contracted the disease. 🙏

Surviving the bombing was only the beginning of the struggle for Wael, a father living with a disability in Lebanon.

Now, in a makeshift shelter, the most basic human needs have become his hardest daily battles.
‘The ground is often flooded, making it nearly impossible for me to move,’ he explains.

Families are surviving on just one meal of rice and yoghurt every 24 hours. ‘It is heart-wrenching to watch the children struggle with hunger,’ Wael says.

In Lebanon today, more than one million people have been forced to leave their homes, leaving everything behind. Current shelter conditions in Lebanon fall well below minimum standards due to the rapid scale of displacement.

Your support provides hygiene kits and cash grants that families like Wael’s desperately need to regain a sense of dignity and safety. Tearfund’s partners are supporting the most vulnerable people who can’t easily move, including those with disabilities.

Donate today to provide vital aid for those affected by this humanitarian crisis. https://f.mtr.cool/gncquqxfgn

The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared an Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo with over 400 suspected cases and over 130 deaths reported.

Tearfund's Regional Director for East & Central Africa, Hebdavi Kyeya, explains how Tearfund has a long history of working with faith leaders responding to Ebola outbreaks in the region.

Tearfund’s existing work providing clean water and sanitation is even more important at this time, when local partners are working hard to contain the spread of a particularly dangerous strain of virus.

Please pray for all those living and working at the epicentre of this current outbreak in Ituri province in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
