Tean WI

Tean WI A friendly, welcoming social group for ladies of all ages. We meet in Christchurch Hall, Vicarage Road, 7.30pm First Tuesday of the Month

15/05/2026

Two million people are expected to come together this June for Great Big Green Week, and we want you to be one of them.

Running from 6 to 14 June, Great Big Green Week is the UK’s only mass moment for nature and climate. Together for good, WIs are working for a fair green future, shaped by local voices, rooted in community, and mindful of the different impacts people face.

Organise an event, join one near you, or help spread the word. Whatever you do, you’re part of showing what communities across the UK can achieve when they come together for good.

Visit https://www.greatbiggreenweek.com/ to get involved.

An absolutely fabulous evening was had at our April meeting 😁.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves, and the Easter themed refreshments went down a storm - there was cake, hot cross buns and more. Thanks must go to Lorraine, Joyce, Ann, and Dilys for being our hostesses with the mostesses πŸ˜‹

We also had a most wonderful and relaxing meditation session courtesy of our guest speaker - Harji from Indian Fusion . This is the second time Harji has visited our WI (remember our Bollywood dance session?) and we love having her πŸ₯°

It wouldn't be Easter or the WI without a crafty aspect - and this evening, our members demonstrated their Easter bonnets skills - just check out the parade 😍

Congratulations to Linda, our winner of the Easter bonnet competition πŸ₯.

If you'd like to find out more about our friendly WI, please do get in touch, or come along to a meeting as a guest 😁

December was a fun packed time for our members 😁

Our December meeting was a wonderful demonstration and instruction evening where our members created their own beautiful Christmas table decorations/arrangements πŸ’šπŸŒ²

Refreshments were provided by our fabulous committee who treated everyone to a variety of goodies for a delicious buffet, and along with our hostess Sue, kept the drinks flowing πŸ₯°

Everyone agreed that it was a fabulous evening and there were lots of proud members taking home their beautiful creations.

Also in December, our members travelled to the Royal Oak in Dilhorne for a fantabulous festive lunch πŸ˜‹

There was food aplenty, as was the chatter and laughter. It definitely got people in the festive mood 🌲

January is our traditional meal out for all our members - another opportunity for fun, laughter fabulous food πŸ˜‹ - I'm sensing a bit of a theme 🀣

If this sounds like something you'd like to join in with, our next open meeting will be on the first Tuesday in February. Guests are welcome, so if you'd like to see and hear more about what Tean WI can offer, please message the page and we can give you details of the meeting and make sure someone is on hand to welcome you ❀️

So as 2025 draws to a close, we'd like to wish all of our members and their families a blessed and peaceful Christmas and New Year ✨

Thought I'd share in case anyone was interested in attending. These are not WI walks and have no connection to the WI.

Tuesday 4th November was our pie and pea supper, and this year we had a black and red theme to commemorate 80 years of VE Day β€οΈπŸ–€

As always, members bring along a guest, whether that's a friend, spouse, or other family member, and everyone has a delicious serving of pie, peas, and gravy (some even had seconds πŸ˜‹).

It's a real social occasion with entertainment - this year provided by the fabulous Vicky - and our always popular 'bagbola' - think tombola, but all prizes are concealed in gift bags so you never know what you're winning 😁

Vicky was fabulous, singing songs from eras past - from wartime songs to Abba and the Beatles. There was lots of dancing and singing along 😁

Special thanks must also go to Linda who created individual poppies for all members to wear on the evening, as well as all the members who made the most delicious desserts πŸ˜‹

Everyone who attended said what a thoroughly enjoyable evening it was 😁

If this sounds like something you'd like to be a part of, why not join us at our next meeting which will be held on Tuesday 2nd December, starting promptly at 7pm. We will be creating a Christmas table decoration using fresh greenery and decorations - you can bring your own flowers to add in if you would like to.

Guests are welcome to attend, but we MUST know in advance (at least a week before the evening) to ensure there are sufficient materials available for people to use. A fee will also be charged for any guests attending as the subsidy paid by the WI is for members only 😊. Any guests wishing to attend, please message the page in advance.

We welcome ladies of all ages and it is a fabulous way to make new friends, learn new skills, and get out and about. We have so many interesting guest speakers booked for future meetings, and social events too 😁. If you'd like more info, please message the page.
