Over the summer we have enjoyed two lovely get togethers, at Quirky Flowers and the Ramblers Retreat. We now look forward to our usual monthly evening meetings which are held on the first Tuesday (next week!) At 7.30, at Christ Church Hall, Vicarage Road, Tean.
Next week we will be visited by someone whos mother flew Spitfires during WW2. This particular meeting is open to anyone who has an interest in WW2 tales & spitfires. £5 for visitors. Includes refreshments. We look forward to welcoming you.

What better way to spend an afternoon? Good company and tea with and fellow shower dodgers at The Ramblers Retreat. As usual, we all had a lovely catch up and totally enjoyed the fine cakes, sandwiches and lots of tea. The rain didnt dampen our spirits!

What a lovely day we've had today visiting the very talented and creative Pam at Quirky Flowers in Cheddleton. Pam gave us a very interesting tour of her flowerbeds and poly tunnels, all brimming with colour. We were then treated to tea, cake and a demonstration on making a wonderful summer bouquet. One of our lucky ladies won the beautiful flowery creation. Great way to spend a summers day.

What a lovely evening we all enjoyed last night didnt we? We were entertained by Mr Eric Newton, the busker. What an interesting chap. He made light of his life troubles and turned them in to possatives, and went on to have a very interesting life and career. Great story teller....made for the stage. Now in his early 80s, hes still entertaining audiences. Bravo Eric!!
We rounded the evening off with delicious cakes and savouries. Thankyou all. More of the same in September. Our Augusts meeting is a trip to Quirky Flowers, Cheddleton.

Then why not consider joining Teans WI? We meet at Christ Church Hall in Tean on the 1st Tuesday if each month at 7.30. We have a full and varied program of events, speakers and outings for the year. Were a friendly bunch, and of course there will be cake! Our next meeting is on Tuesday 7th July, and we shall be entertained by Eric "The Busker" Newton!

A very enjoyable evening was had by our 4 reps at the SFWI : Staffordshire Federation Women's Institutes annual quiz at the county show ground. Diane, Margaret,Jan and Maureen had varied knowledge inputs resulting in a respectful 79% score. Congratulations to the winners from Canwell Team A who scored 93%.
