Today was our monthly meeting, on the agenda our society’s mini show. The principle bring your orchids, put them on the table. They get numbered and each member gets to pick their favourite 3. No official judging, just pick the 3 you like and vote 1-2-3.
The results……… in 3rd place was Clifford Cheeseman with his Angraecum sesquipedale,
2nd place was our society’s secretary Marian Saunders with her Tolumnia Hybrid.
And the Winner is Me !!! Andrew Northover with my little Vanda Falcata Shutennou.
Recon anybody attending the NEC show this week will get the opportunity to see alot of our table show orchids, plus many more on our display. Hope everybody has a fabulous time, unfortunately i’m not attending personally but many of our members are making the trip, so make sure you say hi!

See us soon at the International Orchid Show as part of the BBC Gardeners World Live at the NEC on 18-21 June. We will be displaying our members’ plants alongside other British orchid societies, nurseries and international growers.

I’ll attach a photo of my Andrew Northover 1st catt ive managed to get into flower after 2 years of trying. Such a wonderful feeling when you learn and make progress after so many fellow growers advice. 1 of many benefits i have found from joining my local society. But it’s not just our society, it’s the orchid community i learn from each year!!!

Sorry we been quite lately. Been having a rest on the shows so here’s a look at Dons recent win in the Devon orchids society’s show. His Dendrobium Spring Doll took home Best in Class Hybrid. Well done Don!!!

Yesterday was our monthly meeting. This month we all tried our luck at kelvins orchid quiz. Turns out it might of been a mastermind edition with marian our secutary getting the winning score with 20/31. Well done Marian, hope you enjoy the prize of a lovely phalanopsis orchid picked up at the devon show. We were also blessed with a wonderful table show, partially due to orchids meeting up after their recent travels around the southwest for the shows. hope you all enjoy the photos we managed to take.

Hard to believe this time last week we were in the middle of devon’s show. Must be a good reason to dive in and have another look at the lucky winners. so terry won for his cymbidium 2 weeks on the trot with this fantastic cym “emma” he walked away with best in class. best hybrid. and trophy winner. well done terry.

Wow after a few days rest after a busy show schedule we want to share with you some of the amazing orchids and rosettes we were fortunate enough to win as a society. i’m going to start off with a huge congratulations to cliff for winning several rosettes with his Dendrobium thrysiflorum. i’m sure everyone will agree this is an absolute beauty and it’s now being added to my personal wishlist 😂😂.
