Do you ever worry that your children or grandchildren might be in an unhealthy relationship?

Every young person deserves a relationship built on respect, trust and safety — free from abuse. Talking openly about what’s healthy, reasonable and acceptable is one of the most effective ways to prevent harm before it starts.

Simple tools can help start those conversations. Resources like the Loves Me / Loves Me Not bookmarks, shared by many Soroptimist clubs in their communities, have become powerful conversation starters for young people and families alike.

Exciting news for Soroptimism in our Midland Chase region!

We are delighted to welcome SI Athena, a new Soroptimist club chartering on 20th June 2026.

SI Athena has been created with a modern, flexible approach, bringing together women through primarily online meetings while maintaining a strong focus on friendship, collaboration and action. This innovative model helps make Soroptimism accessible to even more women who want to make a difference in the lives of women and girls.

Their mission, "Wisdom in Action", perfectly reflects the values we share across Soroptimism – listening, valuing every voice and taking purposeful action.

We wish Kim Madill, Jen McLelland and all the founding members every success as they begin this exciting new chapter.

Caroline Marshall spoke to SI Tamworth about the many aspects of the Amazon business , ranging from how it got its name . The humble beginnings in his family garage selling books to a global company . A fascinating insight into the vast range of areas it works in . A real eye opener for our members to realise that parcels and retail are a very small part of it.

Every day, women and girls across the UK experience abuse, but abusive behaviours can be hard to spot. They are often pretending to be something else. Control is camouflaging as care. Manipulation is mistaken for love. Sinister behaviours can slip by unnoticed.

It’s time to see these behaviours for what they are. Abuse.

We started our new Presidential year with speakers from the President’s chosen charities The Tamworth Family Hubs and Shining Starz. The Family Hubs support families and children, while Shining Starz provides addition support for SEND children.

Both Kerry Heath from Tamworth Family Hubs and Melissa Welsby spoke passionately about the work that they do and how it makes such a difference to families, children and young people.

SI Tamworth held their 78th AGM on 9th April 2026.
Unfortunatly our Madam President Gill Holmes was ill, so Past President Ally Allerson did the honours of the change of insignia.
We wish Gill a speedy recovery and Thank Ally for stepping in.
