Swindon Armed Forces Day

17/08/2026

Let’s make this happen! Imagine if everyone in Swindon donated just £1 to this?

I am raising money to support The Club Stratton Royal British Legion in Swindon. Being an ex-Rifleman, the Royal British Legion is close to my heart.

It is the last Royal British Legion club in the town, and we are looking to raise £20,000 to support the club with ongoing building maintenance costs.

The club supports many people across the Swindon and Wiltshire area. Please dig deep and donate to help keep it alive.

Disclaimer: All proceeds raised will go directly to Swindon RBL The Club, which is the charitable entity responsible for running the building.

To donate please follow the link in the comments.

Mark Your Calendar: Armed Forces Day 2026 Is Less Than a Week Away 🪖🍃

As Swindon’s Armed Forces Champion, I’m delighted to share that Swindon’s Armed Forces Day is taking place at Lydiard Park on Saturday 20th June, and everyone’s welcome to come along. It’s a great chance for the whole community to come together and show appreciation for our serving personnel, veterans, and their families.

The event runs from 11.00am to 4.30pm, with gates open to the general public from 11.00am. Entry is free, and parking and access are via the Hook Street entrance, SN5 3NY, with free parking available.

There will be around 75 stalls and interactive displays from the Army, Air Force, Royal Navy, Police, Fire Service, Ambulance teams, and all Cadet forces. For those looking for some hands-on fun, there’s axe throwing, a mobile caving experience, a mini assault course, and a chance to watch the Cadets in action with a net scrambling activity.

A full programme of stage entertainment will run throughout the day, including performances from the Gurkhas, cadets, and a brass band. Hot food, ice cream, doughnuts, and sweet treats will be available, along with an onsite bar for adults.

Come along and show your support for Armed Forces Day.
