Phew… this heat 🌞🥵

I hope you are all keeping as well as possible, staying hydrated, finding shade where you can and moving a little more slowly with life this week if needed.

The good news? The weather is looking noticeably cooler for the weekend 🙌💚
Which I think many of us — humans, dogs, ducks and probably the Queens Park squirrels too — will be very grateful for 😂

One of the beautiful things yoga teaches us is to pay attention and respond to what is actually here — not what we think we should be doing. In yoga philosophy this is part of ahimsa… compassion and non-harming, including towards ourselves.

So if your body is asking for rest, rest.
If it wants gentle movement, move gently.
If it needs feet up in front of a fan with an ice lolly… honestly, that counts too 😂🍦

And when Sunday comes, Park Yoga will as always be an invitation — not a performance. A space to move in ways that support you, whether that’s energetic flowing, mindful stretching, sitting quietly under the trees, or lying in savasana listening to the birds and breeze.

There is something quite special about practising together outdoors — community, nature, shared breath, geese wandering about with confidence levels most of us aspire to 🪿😂

🌿 Park Yoga Swindon 🌿

Well… what a glorious morning that was ☀️💚

171 humans (from babies upwards 😊), plus geese, swans, ducks, squirrels and all the other park residents gathering together in beautiful Queens Park for mindful movement, fresh air and community. It really does show just how much spaces like this are needed.

On a Bank Holiday weekend too! The fact that people chose to spend part of their Sunday morning practising together in nature felt very special.

And for anyone who looks at the numbers and thinks “Oh no… too many people for me” — honestly, don’t let it put you off trying. With all those beings gathered together, there is something surprisingly peaceful about it all. It never feels performative or intimidating. Just people arriving exactly as they are and moving in ways that support them on that particular day.

Yoga reminds us that we don’t have to “achieve” stillness or peace — sometimes we simply create the conditions where it can quietly arise. Community, breath, birdsong, grass under our feet, gentle movement… it matters.

Huge thank you to our wonderful volunteers Julie and Kaylie 💚 You are absolute stars.

And thank you to our venue hosts and partners who help make Park Yoga Swindon possible, including the wonderful support from South Swindon Parish Council and WASP (Wiltshire & Swindon Sport) and the wider Park Yoga charity team.

Also… apologies for the mike 🎤 (microphone!) having a few existential crises this morning 😅 Hopefully it didn’t detract too much from the practice. I think it may have been trying to find enlightenment of its own.

As always, Park Yoga is completely free to attend and open to EVERY body. If you are able and would like to support this registered charity, donations are always welcomed at parkyoga.co/swindon 🙏

☀️ PARK YOGA SWINDON ☀️

Have you seen the forecast for the weekend?!
Wonderful weather, wonderful park, wonderful community spirit 💚

And honestly… what a beautiful reminder of what yoga can be.

Not about how bendy you are.
Not about getting everything “right.”
Not about looking like the people you see on Instagram.

Just arriving as you are. Breathing. Moving. Connecting — with yourself, nature and each other.

And moving in a way that supports you.
That might mean joining in with every posture.
It might mean taking extra rest.
It might even mean lying in savasana for most of the session listening to the birds and feeling the breeze on your skin.

And everything in between is welcome too 💚

So if you’ve been thinking about trying Park Yoga but keep talking yourself out of it… maybe this is your sign to give it a go.

“I’m not flexible.”
“I’ve never done yoga before.”
“I won’t know anyone.”

That’s all absolutely fine.

Park Yoga is a welcoming, inclusive, non-performative practice for EVERY body. No experience needed. No need to touch your toes. No fancy kit required. Just come as you are on the day.

Yoga philosophy teaches us about meeting the present moment with openness — not waiting until we feel “ready” or “good enough.” The body becomes the way in. Breath by breath. Moment by moment.

🌿 Free to attend
🌿 No need to book

Park Yoga is also a registered charity whose mission is to improve physical and mental wellbeing by introducing the transformative benefits of yoga in nature, fostering joy, connection and community 💚

If you are able and would like to support us, donations are always warmly welcomed (but never expected) at parkyoga.co/swindon

Bring a mat, towel or blanket if you have one… and maybe a little sunscreen by the look of it 😎

Hope to see you there.

What a lovely morning in Queens Park today 💚

The weather was kind to us (which honestly felt like a minor miracle after last week! 😅), the Yogi Tea was flowing ☕ and the park felt full of gentle energy, movement and connection.

There was something really special about practising alongside the geese wandering past, ducks paddling nearby and the swan gliding across the water while the trees danced softly in the breeze 🦢🪿🌿

Yoga reminds us that we are not separate from nature — we are part of it. Sometimes simply moving, breathing and noticing the world around us is enough to bring us back to ourselves. No performance. No perfection. Just being.

A huge thank you to our wonderful volunteers Kaylie and Julie who help make Park Yoga Swindon possible every single week 💚 Your support, warmth and steady presence is so appreciated.

And thank YOU to everyone who came along this morning and continues to support this beautiful community. Whether you joined in, brought a friend, shared a post or simply smiled at someone on the mat next to you — it all matters 🌱

Park Yoga is always FREE to attend because it is run as a charity with community and accessibility at its heart. If you are able and would like to support us with a donation, you can do so at parkyoga.co/swindon 💚 Every donation helps keep these sessions going for everyone.

Tomorrow morning we are back in beautiful Queens Park, Swindon from 9.30am – 10.30am 💚

The weather is looking DRY 🙌 and thankfully not quite as chilly as last week! (I’m fairly certain even the squirrels were questioning their life choices last week 🥶🐿️)

This week we’ll also be giving away FREE Yogi Tea after practice ☕✨

We are really grateful to work in partnership with Yogi, whose support helps bring a little extra warmth and community connection to Park Yoga. This week’s tea is their *Immune Support* blend — perfect for a fresh spring morning in the park 🌱

As always, Park Yoga is a space to arrive exactly as you are. No need to be flexible, no need to have done yoga before, and absolutely no performance required. Yoga begins from where you are on the day — body, breath, mind and all.

Park Yoga is a registered charity with a simple but powerful mission — to improve physical and mental wellbeing by introducing the benefits of yoga in nature, while fostering joy, connection and community 💚

Sessions are always FREE to attend because we never want money to be a barrier to accessing movement, nature and connection. If you are able and would like to support Park Yoga, donations are always warmly welcomed and genuinely help keep these community sessions going. You can donate after the sessions by card (sorry no cash) or on Park Yoga website at parkyoga.co/swindon 🌿

Bring layers, a mat/towel/blanket if you have one, and perhaps a friend too.

Hope to see you there. Look out for the Park Yoga flag 🌿

Well… that was different 🥶😂

It was a bit chilly this morning. I am fairly sure I spotted a squirrel wrapped up in a scarf and hat 🐿️🧣🧤

And that bracing wind! At one point it felt less like gentle mindful movement and more like an advanced grounding practice trying not to get blown into Old Town 🌬️😂

Thank you, all 125 brave souls, for bearing with us today in the cold conditions. I hope the temperature did not take too much away from the practice — although I know it maybe didn’t feel especially “yoga-like” at times, as my main focus became keeping you all warm and moving!

But perhaps that IS yoga too. Not chasing perfection or ideal conditions, but meeting ourselves exactly where we are — cold hands, stiff shoulders, chattering teeth and all. Yoga philosophy reminds us that practice is about presence, adaptability and responding to what 'is', rather than resisting it. Today was certainly an invitation into that 😅

I hope you all found some benefit in today’s session. Kali breath definitely released what was needed… and if nothing else, perhaps it at least made you chuckle and smile 😂💨

Park Yoga is always FREE to attend. As a registered charity, if you are able and would like to support what we do (absolutely no pressure), donations help us continue offering accessible community yoga for everybody. No amount is too small 💚
You can donate here: https://parkyoga.co/swindon/

Huge thank you as always to Julie and Kaylie — stalwart volunteers who I appreciate so much 🌿

Same time next week… and who knows, maybe gloves won’t be needed 🤞☀️

Thinking about coming along to Park Yoga Swindon… but then the little niggles of thought arrive?

“I can’t touch my toes.”
“I’m not very flexible.”
“I won’t know anyone.”
“What if everyone else knows what they’re doing?”

Honestly? None of that matters 💚

Yoga was never meant to be about performing shapes or becoming a human pretzel. Traditionally, yoga begins with meeting yourself exactly where you are on the day you practice. Some days energised, some days tired, some days wobbly, some days joyful. All of you is welcome.

The body is simply the way in. The breath, the movement, the noticing… that’s the practice. Not how far you bend.

At Park Yoga Swindon there is no “good at yoga.”
No gold stars for touching your toes.
No need to keep up.
No need to get it right.

It is a collective individual practice — shared experiences at the heart of our community 🌿

Well hello Park Yoga Swindon community 🌿💚

This Sunday we are back in beautiful Queens Park, Swindon from 9.30am–10.30am for another morning of mindful movement, fresh air, birdsong, breath and community ☀️🌳

After some really helpful feedback, we are making a small change to where I facilitate from this week. I will now be based at the bottom of the grass area. The slight slope has caused a bit of instability for some people, and others have said they can’t always see me clearly, so we are adapting and evolving together 😊

One of the lovely things about yoga philosophy is the idea of Svadhyaya — self-study and reflection. Yoga invites us to notice, listen and adjust with kindness rather than force. So thank you for helping shape this community offering. I would really appreciate your feedback on how the new position feels and works for you 🙏

As always, Park Yoga Swindon is:
✨ Free to attend
✨ Inclusive and non-performative
✨ Suitable for EVERY body
✨ A space to connect with yourself, nature and each other

No need to be bendy. No need to have done yoga before. Just come as you are 💚

Donations are always welcomed if you are able and feel called to support the charity, but money should never be a barrier to attending.

Same time, same park, same wonderful community 🌳

See you Sunday.

Well… what a beautiful way to begin 💛

The birds were singing as if they’d been waiting for us, the sun shining in that soft, idyllic way… and there we were, together again in the park. Nature doing what it does best — nurturing, holding, and gently inviting us to just be 🌿

In yoga philosophy, there’s a simple truth: acceptance is freedom. When we meet ourselves exactly as we are — no fixing, no performing — something softens. And in that space, we find ease.

Thank you to every single one of you who came along and shared that space today. It really matters.

A huge thank you to our wonderful volunteers Julie and Kayleigh — we couldn’t do this without you 💚 And Emma, we missed you and hope to see you very soon!

Just a little reminder… Park Yoga will always be free to attend. If you’re able and feel called to, donations are warmly welcomed — but money should never be a barrier to being here.
If you’d like to support, you can do so at parkyoga.co 🙏
