Assalamu Alaikum, Nomoskar, Shalom, Bonjour, Croeso, and warm greetings to all.
With heartfelt gratitude, I want to thank everyone who joined us today for International Mother Language Day 2026. Your presence, your voices, and your languages turned this celebration into a truly meaningful and memorable gathering for our whole community.
Today we witnessed the beauty of multilingualism through our children, youth, parents, elders, performers, storytellers, and cultural groups. Together, we honoured our heritage, celebrated our diversity, and strengthened our shared commitment to belonging, dignity, and justice.
My sincere appreciation to our Chair, Mohammad Taha Idris, for his guidance, and to our event coordinator, Dr. Moutushi Tanha, whose dedication shaped this programme with such care and excellence. Special thanks to Swansea Bay Bangladesh Society (SBBS) for their continued support and partnership.
A warm thank you to all volunteers, performers, community representatives, and everyone who contributed to the Calligraphy Corner, Language Tree, youth activities, and cultural expressions. You made this event vibrant, inclusive, and full of life.
As we look ahead, ECoS will work with SBBS and our wider community stakeholders to form a dedicated sub‑committee, led by Dr. Moutushi, to continue this journey throughout the year as we prepare for our next celebration on 21 February 2027.
Thank you all for standing together in unity and pride.
Together We Build Tomorrow.
