๐โ Introducing Tea & Trolley โ๐
Ever stood at the supermarket entrance and felt your stomach drop?
For many people, shopping isn't just about picking up milk and bread. Anxiety, overwhelm, sensory overload, loneliness, or low confidence can make even the simplest trip feel exhausting.
In an online world, it can feel easy to hide away. When family are unavailable and friends are busy, jumping on a mobile phone or laptop to do an online shop can seem like the perfect solution. And sometimes it is.
But when anxiety is driving us to avoid places and situations that feel overwhelming, staying home can gradually make our world feel smaller. We miss out on those everyday moments of human connection that help us feel part of our community.
Shopping in person is about much more than groceries. Reading body language, making eye contact, exchanging a smile, or simply being around other people can make a real difference to our wellbeing - even if you use the self-checkout and don't speak to anyone at all.
That's why we're delighted to be launching Tea & Trolley at Waitrose Swaffham.
Tea & Trolley is a free supportive shopping experience designed to help you navigate the store with confidence, connection, and a little extra support when you need it.
๐ Shop on your own terms with a Room to Breathe Companion
๐ Take time to talk, offload, or simply walk alongside someone who understands
๐ Enjoy a cuppa in a safe, welcoming space if the world feels a little too loud
We know that avoiding situations that make us anxious can feel like the easiest option. But small, supported steps can help us rebuild confidence, retrain our brain's threat response, and reconnect with the world around us.
Sometimes the most powerful thing isn't doing it alone - it's knowing someone is alongside you.
Because achieving the simple things shouldn't feel like climbing a mountain. ๐ฉต
