REHOMED - Sadie is a 4 month old Husky cross (we are told with a cocker but I'm not convinced), she is microchipped, flea and worm treated and had a 1st vaccination so far. She will be rehomed with 5 weeks free pet insurance and on a spay contract where you will agree to have her spayed once old enough and fully mature, that will mean either returning her to one of our vets in Swadlincote, Burton, Tamworth or Northampton where we will cover the cost or if you are too far away we will reimburse you with £175 towards the cost on proof of spay.
Sadie came to us as a bit of an emergency, she has already been passed around and was about to be sold on again until a family member convinced them to do the right thing by her and hand her in.
Lucky Sadie is a pretty resilient, if slightly bonkers, puppy who has taken all the moving around pretty much in her stride and settled in really well within a few hours. She has definitely lacked any form of training and really does need a very committed forever home who will invest time in her taking her back to basics which may include taking her along to some formal dog training sessions if needed.
Being a husky cross and rather a long legged, tall girl already she is VERY VERY energetic and wow this girl can jump! She thinks nothing of being able to jump onto a work surface, can hop over a stair gate with absolute ease and we think she is actually maybe crossed with a kangaroo! So she will definitely need a home with a nice secure garden with at least 6ft fences all around.
Sadie does have a super sweet nature, she is very loving and tactile. She loves to follow you where ever you go and when she has finally worn herself out she loves to lay at your feet or cuddle on the sofa with you before recharging her batteries ready for another playtime.
Sadie has been good with the other dogs her in foster, she does play quite roughly and if she is to be rehomed with another dog they will need to be a medium to large size breed as she will be too much for small dogs. She will be best in a home without cats or small furries but we can consider families with dog savvy children aged 7yers and over who can handle a dog jumping up at them.
Sadie walks pretty well on her harness and travels really well in the car, she loves going out on lovely nice long walks and will happily pass people and other dogs, saying hello nicely. She was also great with the vet.
She LOVES water and enjoys a paddle....but also digging in a large water bowl so be warned! She sleeps downstairs at night with the other dogs, she has been a bit unsettled at first but a longer lasting treat at bedtime has helped her to settle, its not surprising given all the change she has encountered in her young life. She wouldn't be suited to being left alone for long periods.
She will need a home with a VERY active couple or family who are young and fit enough to keep up with such a high energy dog, she would excel at something like canicross or even agility maybe when she is older, she is certainly highly intelligent and FAST!
Being fostered in Swadlincote, Derby's but can be rehomed further afield subject to home check and adoption donation of £350
