✈️⛱️Always check if the airport you are travelling to has their own hidden disability scheme too.

Our top tip for travelling abroad... if you haven't already booked, then check what days are the busiest with flights and try and avoid them. This can help minimise the queues from the new EES system at passport control. Also talk to your airline about how booking assistance might be the best option. 😎🛫

Open consultation

Make Work Pay: employment rights for unpaid carers and parents of seriously ill children.

The government are seeking views on the employment rights that are available to people with unpaid caring responsibilities and parents who have a seriously ill child.

This consultation closes at
11:59pm on 1 September 2026

The link to the consultation is in the post below.

The Government is asking carers for their views on employment rights, including whether there should be a statutory right to paid Carer's Leave.

Unpaid carers across the country struggle to juggle work and care, and many can’t afford to take unpaid time off work. That's why this consultation is so important.

The consultation covers England, Scotland and Wales.

Your experience can help shape future support for working carers. Respond to the consultation here: https://bit.pulse.ly/7rl1sdzbtm

Are you a Carer? Do you know about Carefree?

With Carefree, full-time unpaid carers can take an annual short break in beautiful hotels for £38.

Hundreds of hotels nationwide donate room nights to the charity every day from their excess capacity. Through Carefree, you can access a 1–2 night hotel stay with a companion, with the option of two breaks per year (one between January and June, and a second between July and December), at a time and place that works for you.

Who can get a break?
To be eligible you need to be over 18 years of age and provide more than 30 hours of unpaid care per week.

What are the costs?
We charge a £38 admin fee per break to help us run our charity. You’re also responsible for paying for your travel and other expenses.

Get registered with Carefree today.
Your well-deserved break is waiting just around the corner.

You can out more about Carefree breaks in the link below.
