The charity is 20 years of age and has come a long way since Gordon and Ann were Mayor and Mayoress of the Borough Surrey Heath in 1995 and founded the charity. Approximately £4.5 million has been raised and spent and although the charity started in Surrey Heath it now covers all of Surrey, North Hampshire, East Berkshire and South West London. Many individuals, groups and schools have been helped
by the charity. Approximately 15 mini buses have been purchased, through floor lifts, stair lifts
electric wheelchairs, sports wheelchairs, white boards, IT equipment for school as well as iPads and docking stations. Holidays in the UK, Eurodisney and this year the charity will complete its tenth trip to Orlando, Florida meaning that 80 special needs children have had the benefit from this holiday in Orlando especially swimming with the dolphins. The charity has just replaced the two mobile homes at Pagham where approximately 120 families have the benefit of a holiday free of charge. Every year the charity holds a fun fair day for around 700 children at Frimley Lodge Park and 1400 children and their parents attend the New Victoria Theatre, Woking for the first night of the pantomime free of charge. A number of schoosl also have tickets bought for the morning performances and the Yvonne Arnaud in Guildford and the New Victoria Theatre. As a charity we are extremely grateful to our Patrons who raise the profile of the charity and contribute by attending our functions. We also have a number of sponsors who regularly donate large sums to the charity each year. We have never employed any staff or rent any accommodation and our Committee are all volunteers and receive no expenses, every penny raised is for the benefit of our special children. We try to keep to our motto" putting a smile on today - for tomorrow".
