🎨✨ Free Family Ceramics Day at St Mark’s Church, Millfield! ✨🎨

Millfield Community Collective is delighted to invite you to a hands-on Family Ceramics Day at St Mark’s Church in Millfield!

Join us for a relaxed and creative session where families can roll, shape and sculpt their own clay creations using simple hand-building techniques. You might create decorative tiles, pinch pots, small sculptures or special keepsakes to treasure. Our friendly team will be on hand to guide you through the process and help bring your ideas to life, whether you are trying ceramics for the first time or already love getting creative.

Family activities like this are a wonderful way to slow down and spend meaningful time together. Creating side by side encourages teamwork, conversation and plenty of laughter. It is a chance to step away from busy routines, connect with one another and build special memories within our community.

Once your masterpieces are complete, we will carefully take them away to be professionally fired in a kiln. Your finished pieces will then be returned to St Mark’s Church and ready for collection at a later date.

We have two sessions taking place on Monday 23rd February:
🕙 10:00am–12:30pm
🕑 2:00pm–4:30pm

🎟️ Please note:
• A ticket must be purchased for each person attending
• Parents and guardians must stay with their children throughout the session

Spaces are limited, so book early to avoid missing out.

👉 Book your tickets here: www.millfieldcommunitycollective.com/events

We cannot wait to see what you create! 🧡

These activities have been made possible with thanks to funding from TNL Community Fund.

We’ve won our first grant! 🤩🥳 We want to say big big thanks to the ASDA Foundation for their amazing donation to us to enable us to create the raised beds for our community allotment at St Marks Church! This is a big first step for us in making some of the things happen that the millfield community has told us they want 🤩 thank you ASDA! We are hoping to have the allotment beds in place for Easter time and our first activities available from May ❤️

Thank you also to everyone who has DM’d us with ideas, questions and offers of donations to help us get on our way - this is amazing!

What Should Millfield Community Collective Offer?

We don’t want to assume we know what’s needed—that’s why we’re asking the community to shape what we do. Would you like to see more activities for families? Sessions for young children, people with disabilities or other groups? Access to a community pantry, a space for learning or something completely different?

We know there’s already great support and activities happening in Millfield, and we want to add to that in a way that makes sense. Please share your thoughts with us, and we’ll do our best to make it happen. https://s.surveyplanet.com/s05v895v

Strengthening Millfield, Together

There are so many skills and strengths in Millfield, and we want to contribute in a way that supports what’s already happening. We’re looking at how we can provide spaces and activities that bring people together and help build a more connected community.

Are there particular workshops, activities or support services that would be valuable? Whether it’s learning new skills, social opportunities or something completely different, we’d really like to know.

Share your thoughts in the comments or complete our short survey to help shape what we do. https://s.surveyplanet.com/s05v895v

More Access to Warm Spaces for Millfield This Winter

We want to create warm, welcoming spaces where people can drop in, meet others and take part in activities. This could be as simple as a place to have a cup of tea and a chat or include sessions that help people stay active and engaged.

What would make a warm space feel comfortable and useful to you? Should it be a quiet space to relax, a social setting or a mix of both? Let us know what you think, so we can make it work for the community. Please click on the survey link here to share your thoughts. https://s.surveyplanet.com/s05v895v
