In the lead up to the Active Sunderland Big Bike Ride and with thanks to Cycling UK North East England Big Bike Revival, we will be in Herrington Park on Friday 29th May 2026.

We will be offering FREE Adult Learn to Ride and Cycle Confidence sessions and also a Led Family Bike Ride.

With thanks to The National Lottery Community Fund, Awards for All, we are pleased to announce the release of our new cycling programme.

Designed to offer a progressive range of cycling activities, inclusive to all, with all equipment provided if necessary.

The initial phase of the programme will offer the following activities:

Learn to Ride classes
Dr Bike Health Check
Cycle/Walk Treasure Hunt

Further activities and sessions will be released and added throughout the year.

With thanks to the Consolidated Active Travel Fund (CATF), Active Travel England, we will be delivering a number of Learn to Ride and SEND 1:1 sessions over the Easter holidays.

🚨Session cancelled 🚨

We have had to make the unfortunate decision to cancel this mornings learn to ride class (Sat 14th Feb 2026).

Due to frost and black ice covering the training area surface, the conditions are extremely unsafe for cycling.

The safety of all participants is our top priority, and under the current circumstances it would not be appropriate to proceed.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

All participants booked on this mornings sessions have been emailed privately.
