Good afternoon to you all!

What a wonderful start to the week ... we wish to say a very big thank you to Sudbury Town Council for their continued support to us here at No. 72. STC have given us a very generous donation of £1,700 towards our charity. This will help us immensely to continue assisting those in the local community who need support.

On Wednesday the "stop smoking ladies" will be with us. Do pop by if you feel they can help you in this aspect.

On Thursday we have Helen from the Citizen's Advice Bureau popping by. If you would like to speak with her, come along on Thursday, 10.00 am onwards.

Of course, the art tables will be up and ready all week, as well.

Don't forget in your diary plans, to remember that on Friday November 27th we are open late to coincide with Late Opening/Turning on of the Lights and the next day, Saturday 28th, we have our Festive Quiz evening. Do see our quiz poster for more details.

Good morning, just a rare mid-week post to confuse you all! Tomorrow we were supposed to have Helen from Citizen's Advice Bureau in with us. Unfortunately, Helen has had to change her date and she will be in next Thursday, 15th October. Do come along then if you want to meet with her. Thank you.

Whilst I am here I might as well fully plug our up and coming Christmas Quiz Night. Do get your team together and join us for some fabulous quizzing! Bring your own drinks & nibbles. Raffle on the night. £8.00 per person/max 6 per team. Free mulled w**e and hot chocolate! (more details, see poster)

Good afternoon! What a wonderful sunny one it is, too.

This week at Number 72 we have our lovely pet therapy dog, Rio, coming to see us tomorrow. On Thursday Helen from Citizen's Advice Bureau is in with us, and will be on hand to give any advice you might need. Do pop along to see us Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday 9.30 am until 12.30 pm and enjoy a cuppa, cake and conversation. We also have our normal arts & crafts on hand to do, too.

As one of the Mayor's charities, yesterday we had the pleasure of attending his Civic Service at St. Gregory's Church in Sudbury, followed by a gathering in the Assembly Rooms at the Town Hall. The Mayor spoke of the many wonderful people he has met who dedicate themselves to helping others. Volunteers, farmers, firefighters, police officers, ambulance staff and many more. He recognised their commitment and thanked them all. Here at No. 72, we express our thanks to the Mayor for his kind invitation and positive words.

We owe a very big thank you to Ballingdon, actually for nominating No. 72 as one of the receiving charities from their recent Ballingdon Fete. They raised a wonderful £5,000 in total and as one of four beneficiaries, they wish to present us with a cheque for £1,250. What a wonderful achievement; thank you all so very much.

Save the date! We are holding a Christmas Quiz Night on Saturday 28th November as a fund-raising event. Do get your team together and let us know that you wish to attend. Tickets are available soon. We'd best get studying here, for sure!!

Wow! What a day Saturday was. The Craft & Art Exhibition, 'Through Our Hands', held jointly with The Kernos Centre, was such a success.

The event was opened by the Mayor of Sudbury and then the day begun. We were visited by so many lovely people, who showed such interest in the exhibitors and their work. A fabulous day of pride, confidence building and community spirit.

The comments from visitors were very positive and they were highly impressed by the level of skill on show. Lots of lovely conversations took place!

Some of our clients commented, too:

'I think it was a good sense of community; yes, I would do it again'

It was nice to use the town hall assembly room'

'I was encouraged by visitors' comments'

'It was very encouraging to hear what the visitor thought of my art work'

'I felt it went well, very good and would definitely do it again'

'I had my art work on show, I was surprised how confident I felt. I talked to a lot of people I wouldn't normally have met. It is definitely something I would do again'

One of No. 72's drop-in workers said 'I was absolutely thrilled by the turnout for the exhibition ad the mayor's enthusiasm for both No. 72 and The Kernos. I felt so proud of the artists and their fantastic work, which received so much praise from the public. I think it was a real thrill for them and for us, too. A great day!'

The whole day was a fund-raiser for ourselves and The Kernos Centre and thanks to all our artists and the general public, a magnificent amount of £1,453.30, to be divided between both charities. What a wonderful achievement which provides solid evidence of the power of arts & crafts, confidence and community spirit.

We owe a huge thank you to so many, so here goes:

Well the day has finally arrived! Really excited about this fundraiser for the Kernos Centre and Number 72. Having set up the exhibition yesterday - it looks absolutely brilliant!

The arts and crafts exhibited and on sale are stunning. We also have some delicious cakes on offer with refreshments and a creative therapy corner where our counsellors will demonstrate how creative therapy works in action.

So if you have some spare time today, please come along, see the amazing art and handmade crafts, and maybe get a head start on your Christmas shopping whilst supporting two local charities.

Good afternoon, it is Monday afternoon. Where did this morning, and last week, go?

This week it is arts all the way! Our normal art drop-in mornings with coffee, chat and crafts, too plus this coming Saturday we have "Through Our Hands" Charity Art & Craft Exhibition and Sale. 10 am 'til 3 pm at Sudbury Town Hall. Coffee & Cakes too!

The Exhibition, in partnership with The Kernos Centre, is a wonderful way of showing what the clients of both charities have achieved. Please come along and enjoy the exhibition. It is open to all. Entry by donation.

Our gorgeous Pet Therapy dog, Rio, the miniature schnauzer, will be with us on Wednesday morning. From 10.00 am you can come along for a wonderful canine cuddle!

We look forward to seeing you during the week if you are coming by to see us (Tuesday to Thursday 9.30 am to 12.30 pm), or on Saturday.

Good afternoon to you all! Thankfully, it is a little cooler, isn't it! I know we must not moan, but it is nice to feel a bit less warm.

This week at Number 72 is our last week before the school summer holidays, when we will be closed. Tomorrow, our drop-in is open as usual, Tuesday, and Wednesday too, 9.30 am until 12.30 pm. We will offer our normal calm and welcoming atmosphere, with some art work options, too. Do come along, we would love to see you.

During our summer closure, our phone line will not be fully manned and the best way to contact us will be via email on [email protected]. We will all be taking some holiday relaxation time at some point, therefore there may be a delay in replying to you, whatever way you contact us.

We wish you a very safe and happy summer, and we look forward to welcoming you at Drop-in on Tuesday 1st September, 9.30 am onwards.
