Good morning! Wow, how did we arrive back in the Autumn term and it is early September? Time flashes past so quickly, doesn't it?

Welcome back anyway, even though it is Wednesday! Here at No. 72 we are back in the swing of things (we think!) and doors are open with the kettle on!

We are open today, and tomorrow, 9.30 am until 12.30 pm. Do pop by to see us and catch-up again.

This Sunday we are at the Ballingdon Fete (Ballingdon, actually). 12 noon until 4.00 pm. We will have some crafts for the children, if you wish to stop by and have a quiet chat with us. Or come and just say hi and give us a wave! We look forward to seeing you.

It's great to be back!

We came second 🙌

A heartfelt Thank You to our Mayor Adrian Stohr and his amazing team from Sudbury Town Council for organising such a brilliant quiz night in support of us and The Kernos centre. We are incredibly grateful for your enthusiasm and continued support.

A huge Thank You to all the staff at Ballingdon valley Indian restaurant for providing such attentive and friendly service, the food was delicious and very generous. It was a real treat and enjoyed by us all.

Thank you to everyone who attended, brought raffle tickets, donated prizes, joined in the quiz and helped create such a fun atmosphere.
Your generosity and community spirit made the evening a wonderful success.

As a charity we have increasing numbers of people seeking support.
Events like this and the generosity of our supporters help us continue providing help to those who need it most.

Thank you once again to our wonderful Mayor, The Kernos Centre for their continued support and encouragement, Ballingdon Valley restaurant, and everyone who supported the evening.
Together you’re helping us make a real difference in our community. We couldn’t do it without you. ❤️

If you would like to know more about what we do or would like to support us in anyway please email [email protected]

Thank you and watch this space for more events coming !!

Good afternoon to you all! Thankfully, it is a little cooler, isn't it! I know we must not moan, but it is nice to feel a bit less warm.

This week at Number 72 is our last week before the school summer holidays, when we will be closed. Tomorrow, our drop-in is open as usual, Tuesday, and Wednesday too, 9.30 am until 12.30 pm. We will offer our normal calm and welcoming atmosphere, with some art work options, too. Do come along, we would love to see you.

During our summer closure, our phone line will not be fully manned and the best way to contact us will be via email on [email protected]. We will all be taking some holiday relaxation time at some point, therefore there may be a delay in replying to you, whatever way you contact us.

We wish you a very safe and happy summer, and we look forward to welcoming you at Drop-in on Tuesday 1st September, 9.30 am onwards.

ps don't forget if you would like some brain teasing during the holidays, the Mayor of Sudbury, is holding a Quiz Night on Wednesday July 29th at the Ballingdon Indian at 6.30 pm. Of course we may be biased, but the Quiz Night is in aid of two very worthwhile charities, The Kernos Centre and ourselves. More details, and to book, please see Sudbury Town Council or visit their website. Thank you to our Mayor, Adrian Stohr, for his continuing support.

Our immense thanks must go to Suffolk Community Foundation.

We have received a £2,000 grant funded by Suffolk Community Foundation through the Private Fund - JA Grantmaking Programme.

This will help No. 72 The Family and Community Network continue supporting the vulnerable, lonely and marginalised of Sudbury and its surrounding areas.

Your support to us is invaluable. Thank you.

Good afternoon! We hope it is going well for you ... may be you are in an afternoon sleepy state after watching the football as it played out .... either way it's a gorgeous sunny one!

This week at Number 72 we have a lovely canine cuddle session courtesy of Rio, our lovely pet therapy doggie miniature Schnauzer, on Wednesday. (Weather permitting though, as too hot weather would not be comfortable for Rio.) Wednesday is also Art project day, too. On Thursday we have Helen from the Citizen's Advice Centre popping in. If you have a query which you would like Citizen's Advice to help you with, you can talk to Helen to get your first contact with Citizen's Advice on the go. 10.00 am onwards.

This Saturday Claire is at The Good Place Cafe in Castle Hedingham with a selection of some lovely pre-loved clothes & accessories. There are other sellers there, too. Come along, grab a bargain and enjoy a cuppa & cake at the Good Place. Think Vinted with Coffee! Funds from our stall to Number 72. 10.00 am until 1.00 pm.

(Location: Majendie house, Majendie Lane, Castle Hedingham , Halstead, C09 3FS)

Good afternoon to you all! Oh my, isn't it nicer to feel a little less hot! We hope you all managed to cope as best you could with the extreme heat of last week.

Looking forward to this week at No. 72 we have our normal drop-in Tuesday to Thursday 9.30 am until 12.30 pm. Do pop by to see us for a calm, cuppa and companionship - can't promise all those to be in a "cool" environment, but we'll try our best !

We wish to thank Suffolk Community Foundation who continue to support us in putting No. 72 forward for relevant grant applications, which are much needed in order to keep us open. THANK YOU.

Wishing you all a lovely week as you can have.

Good afternoon! Phew, what a warm one this week is going to be too, so they predict. Let's hope we can all keep as cool as we can and manage to get some well-earned sleep, too!

This warm week is also National Rose Awareness Week. This celebrates the UK’s most beloved garden flower, with activities led by The Rose Society UK, garden centres, growers and horticultural charities. What better way to show off this beautiful red rose, Pride of England. It even has a lovely scent. That's a real bonus!

This week for the Number 72 drop-in, holds a crafty day tomorrow, Tuesday, with our two lovely art & craft ladies in situ. Thursday brings our resident artist available to give guidance or encouragement to you budding artistes.

Do pop by to see us Tuesday to Thursday 9.30 am until 12.30 pm for a cool drink, calm atmosphere and companionship.

If you would like any 1 to 1 time, please do book this with us in advance, by phoning or emailing us. Thank you.

May we all have a good as week as we can and remember to stand tall in the breeze, relish the sun and provide a smile for all .... just like our beloved rose, the nation's favourite flower.

Happy Wednesday! It's not often we post mid-week! Just to keep you on your toes of course!

What a lovely sunny morning it is here in Sudbury. We hope you are all having as good a Wednesday as you can and you can get to enjoy some sunshine ... even if only through the window.

We have been slowly advertising our forthcoming fundraising event, our Summer Quiz Night 1st August. With the wonderful news recently that we have been chosen as one of the Mayor of Sudbury's charities for this year, we obviously wish to support Adrian, the Mayor, and as many events of his as possible. His first fundraiser is .... a quiz night! So, we are going to delay ours for a little while and concentrate on highlighting and supporting Adrian's.

Therefore, if you fancy an Indian meal along with your quiz night, and wish to support No. 72 and The Kernos Centre, the details are below.

Good morning to you all from all of us here at Number 72!

Did you know today is the "Power of a Smile" day. It is true though, there is so much power in a smile. It can lift someone's day instantly, it may be the first smile they've seen in a while, it might be the sunshine someone needs on a cloudy day. We never know the depths a friendly kind smile can reach. Keep On Smilin'! (It even makes the person smiling feel good too, win win!)

This week at Number 72 our drop-in is open, as usual, Tuesday to Thursday 9.30 am until 12.30 pm. It is a fairly quite week in activities but still the same warm welcome and friendly smile (of course!). Thursday is primarily art day, with our resident art expert, but art work can be taken up on any day really.

Our Summer Quiz Night will take place on Saturday 1st August, 6 for 6.30 pm in All Saints Hall, Church Street, Sudbury. Bring a team of up to 6 or come along and we can team you up. £4.00 per person. Bring your own drinks n nibbles. Give us a call on 01787 310610, message or comment here, or email [email protected] if you wish to book a place. Small prize for the winning team! Raffle on the night. Profits will go towards us here at Number 72, The Family & Community Network, helping us to continue supporting those who need us in the local community.

With lots of love
