The following has been received from SSEN this (Tuesday) evening:

Dear Community

further to the update issued on Friday I would like to inform that the delivery to Glenvicaskill expected on Monday was delayed and is now due tomorrow, Wednesday 17 June 2026.
I have been informed that the escorted delivery will leave the Dalwhinnie area at approximately 10:30am and is expected to arrive at Glenvicaskill mid to late afternoon. The delivery will access the B885 (Struan Hill Road) from the Struan end.

Please accept our apologies for the change of delivery time. I sincerely hope that this delivery will not impact on your commute along the Hill Road.

Kind regards,

Maren

Don't shoot the messenger.....

Dear Struan Community Council,

I am writing on Maren’s behalf whilst she is on Annual Leave to inform you of an upcoming delivery of Welfare Cabins to the Edinbane Substation Site as part of our Skye Reinforcement project.

The delivery operation for the Welfare setup is due to begin on Wednesday 16 July and there will be intermittent large delivery traffic for 2-3 weeks following this which may cause some disruption to regular traffic, particularly on Balmeanach Road.

We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause however will aim to keep local disruption to a minimum.

We would also be grateful if you could share this with the wider community on the Community Council page.

Should you require any additional information please do let me know.

We’ve also updated the ‘Project Update’ section of the webpage regarding these works.

Many thanks
Kelly
