🇬🇧 We are so excited to officially welcome 1st Tiddington Scout Group Group and Scout Leader Shirley Prenton-Jones to the Fin Whale Eclipse Project! 🌘🐋

Together, we’ll help communities safely experience the August 12th, 2026 solar eclipse with ISO-certified solar eclipse glasses while supporting youth fundraising and conservation awareness.

Thank you for joining this international youth-led initiative connecting the UK, Europe, and Canada through science, safety, and conservation.

Juntos ayudaremos a las comunidades a experimentar de forma segura el eclipse solar del 12 de agosto de 2026 con gafas solares certificadas ISO, mientras apoyamos la recaudación de fondos juveniles y la concienciación sobre la conservación.

Gracias por unirse a esta iniciativa internacional liderada por jóvenes que conecta al Reino Unido, Europa y Canadá a través de la ciencia, la seguridad y la conservación.

The World Scout Conference is being hosted in the UK at the end of 2027, this 5 day event which happens every three years acts as the governing body for Scouting setting the global objectives and strategy for the worldwide movement for the forthcoming period.

We want to make this the most inclusive event yet, welcoming to the UK in person adult leadership representatives from all 176 National Scout Organisations (NSOs) across the world. We know that there will be some NSO who will find it a financial challenge to attend, so we have established a Solidarity fund to help them with some of the associated costs.

One of the ways we are raising money for the Solidairty fund is via the collecting of foreign currency - we are asking people to dig in their drawers and travel wallets and find those bits of loose change that otherwise will never see the light of day again - which we can then put to good use. We have partnered with an organisation that will convert all types of currency - coins and notes, whether in circulation or not to GBP.

We are so excited to announce the talented Tom Forbes performing on the opening night. He brings his 21st-century one-man band. Blending live looping with groove-led layers of guitar, vocals, and percussion, he transforms the moment into a celebration. Expect future nostalgia, reinvented singalongs, and a set never played the same way twice.
