Arrhythmia Alliance Hearts of Ghana mission is to provide life-saving surgery to those who would not otherwise have access and to train local cardiac teams to be able to perform these operations.

Our Hearts of Ghana mission brings lifesaving heart surgery to patients who would not otherwise have access, and trains local cardiac teams to carry out these operations independently.

Because of this work, University of Ghana Medical Centre is now performing regular heart surgeries on their own.

Meet our dedicated team of UK cardiac specialists currently in Ghana! Our Hearts of Ghana volunteers may be all smiles, but their mission is a serious one, carrying out lifesaving complex heart surgeries for patients in need, while also training nurses and doctors at the University of Ghana Medical Centre LTD.

Today, our latest Arrhythmia Alliance Hearts of Ghana mission begins. A team of ten UK heart specialists is travelling to Accra to provide urgent, lifesaving surgery for some of Ghana’s most vulnerable patients and to train local doctors in complex procedures.

In Ghana, 29% of hospital deaths are caused by heart failure- together, we are working to change that.
