Meet George, aged 9.

Today’s beginner. Tomorrow’s local legend. 🛹

Who knows? With the right skatepark design and investment, the next Tony Hawk could come from Stratford!

Thanks for letting us take his picture Caroline Out with the crocs and in with the skate shoes next time 😅

From Birmingham with Love.

Chris & Simon.

Two skaters. One session. 40 miles from home.

Proof that Stratford Skatepark serves a community far beyond the town itself.

THE GOOD OLD DAYS…

Opening day.
Sun soaked ramps.
Dust on the ground.

Fresh wood.
Huge turn out.
Skating all day.

Real energy. A place full of life.
If you were there, you already know.
If you weren’t… this is what Stratford had.

Built by the community. Used by everyone.
Taken down years later… but not forgotten.

We’ve seen what it can be.
Now imagine what it could be again.

It’s time to bring that energy back.

Paint Stratford shared their perspective on this — here’s why it matters.

This isn’t just about a skatepark — it’s about giving people a space to escape to. A place to skate, make art or just be yourself. Somewhere away from chairs and screens.

A skatepark that an Olympic sport actually deserves — whether that’s skating, riding or anything in between. A space that supports progression. A place to create and connect.

Stratford has always had a strong action sports and art community. If you’ve been part of it — past or present — you already know.

The potential is obvious. But this is bigger than a park — It’s about people of all ages coming together to create something better.

Creativity. Community. And something that genuinely improves people’s wellbeing.

“Investing in young people is investing in Stratford’s future.” - Jonsel Gourkan, Entourage

Local businesses are backing the project.
This is just one voice from the town centre.
There are plenty more.

This isn’t just about a skatepark — it’s about young people, the town, and its future.

It’s not an expense. It’s an investment.

More voices coming soon.

It’s not just locals who use Stratford Skatepark.

People are travelling over an hour to skate here — and it’s the wooden ledges locals built that get used the most.

That says a lot about the demand.

How many more people would come if the park was done properly?

There’s clearly something here worth investing in.

Real people. Real use. Real demand.

People are travelling from across the region to use this park — week in, week out.

Even in its current state, it’s being used heavily.
That says everything. Imagine what it could be with the right investment.

This isn’t about replacing it — it’s about improving what’s already here and expanding it alongside. Designing a park Stratford can actually be proud of. Giving young people something real to do — not just another screen!

This level of park isn’t unrealistic — they already exist all over the UK. There’s no reason Stratford can’t have the same.

Let’s build something better.

If you’ve got thoughts, ideas, or even clips and photos from the current or old park — send them over.

We’re building an archive.
