Not an event (and some strong language in the video) but we are witnessing police brutality against those protesting the genocide in Gaza. This is disgusting. As QUB welcomed the Clintons with open arms, students were beaten up by police outside. Protests currently outside Musgrave Police Station in Belfast for those who are in the city and can support.

Local Palestine solidarity groups are looking for old school jumpers/uniforms, weans shoes that are near done or some old cuddly toys to add to the Palestine banner display at the Tinnies roundabout.

We know these things are costly so we're just looking things you have things that you've been thinking of getting rid of.

As the school year starts and we all go back into the chaos of it, we have to remember that schools in Gaza have been bombed and their pupils - no different to our own weans in Strabane - have been killed by the Israel. We want to add to the display to help raise awareness of the reality facing Palestinian children and their families as the luxury of a normal school year begins for us here in Strabane.

We're meeting at the Tinnies at 3 tomorrow (Saturday 14th Sept) or if you can't make it with anything tomorrow but have a few things we can use, send this page a message.

We are holding a vigil for Palestine tomorrow night (Thursday 12th September) at 8pm. We are almost a year into this genocide, it is abhorrent to witness and we all have a duty to try to stop it but to also remember those who have been killed at the hands of the US and UK government backed Israeli state.

** PALESTINE RALLY **

Today marks US Independence Day. This is a day of celebration in America, but it should not be - not while the US not only supports but funds Israel's genocide of Palestinians.

With Independence Day comes the reminder to many of slavery, the massacre and ethnic cleansing of indigenous people and violence against those who protest for change, to name but a few. And now it adds the genocide of Palestinians to its legacy.

Join us tonight at 7.30 at the John Dunlap Memorial (pictured below) on Upper Main Street (opposite Chapel Car Park) and bring Palestine flags and Keffiyehs.

Show the US Government that the birthplace of John Dunlap, who printed the US Declaration of Independence, does not stand by their actions against the Palestinian people.

PS We appreciate that this is late notice but would still encourage you to attend. The event will end at 8pm.

ALL OUT FOR PALESTINE!

ALL EYES ON RAFAH!

All welcome to our white line picket next Saturday 8th June at 3pm to show our solidarity with the people of Palestine, and to raise awareness about this genocide we are watching unfold on our phone screens.

Even if you have never attended before, you are more than welcome to attend. We carry out these white line pickets so that we are visible on one of the busiest roads and streets in our town, on a busy shopping day. We show that our small(ish) town is angry and not letting Israel get away with this, while reminding those who see us to boycott Israeli goods while out shopping and our politicians to represent our voices to the governments supporting Israel's genocide.

We are not affiliated to any one political party or group. We show up together under the SAP banner and our sole focus is Palestine.

If you have never been before but are moved by what you have seen unfold in Rafah, please come. We gather slightly before 3 at Abercorn Square and head out onto the white line on the road, from the square up to Lucky Star/DV8, avoiding junctions and stand and make some noise for about an hour. If you're late or have to leave early, still come!

And finally, spread the word!

March For Palestine

On Saturday, the 13th of May, the Belfast Palestine Solidarity Campaign IPSC with comrades from Trade Union Friends of Palestine, Cairde Palestine, BDS Belfast, IPSC groups from across Ulster, and many others, will be marching through Belfast City Centre from Writers Square to Belfast City Hall at 12pm.

At the City Hall we will hear from Gerry Murphy, ICTU Assistant General Secretary, as well Eamon Meehan from the Irish Anti Apartheid Alliance, Jacob Woolf from Jews For Palestine - Ireland, and Mohammed Samaana from the IPSC

Please share with any family, friends, community groups, sports clubs, and join us to show our solidarity with the people of Palestine in the 75th year of their Nakba.
