Chilton Fields parkrun #240 β Run Report (13 June 2026)
A warm but windy, welcoming Saturday morning greeted 164 runners, joggers and walkers at Chilton Fields for event #240, another brilliant example of what makes parkrun such a special global community, especially on the weekend of the 1 millionth park run. As always, this free weekly 5km event brought together people of all abilities to enjoy a friendly run around the three-lap, largely flat course in Stowmarket .
A vibrant field
The field was nicely balanced, with 94 male and 68 female participants (plus a couple of unknowns), showing once again the inclusive nature of parkrun. An impressive 48 first timers joined the fun β including visitors and tourists adding Chilton Fields to their parkrun journey.
Special mention goes to our tourists from Leeds and the Netherlands, bringing an international flavour to the morning. Whether chasing challenges or simply enjoying a new venue, itβs always fantastic to see parkrun tourism alive and well.
Fast at the front
Leading the field home was Andrew Southwood in a superb 18:17, while Gemma Cannon was first female in 24:24.
