We've been working hard in the last few days. Yesterday Cotswold Canals Trust volunteers finished off our pontoon platform, and with a digger, remodelled our canal bank to make it safer. We can now see our pontoon without the cliff in front! Huge thanks to all of them for their hard work on this project.
Earth has been piled on top so we can now start using that to level the pedestrian walkway and adjust the gradients to comply with requirements for disabled access. Marcus is looking into ordering posts, rails and creating edging with some offcuts from the boardwalk. He and Paul started creating a stage from palettes and the artboards left on site since last year, Mike levelled off some soil on our walkway before connecting up the gas barbeque and making burgers for us all, and i did the easy job of popping to the coop for burger rolls and cream donuts!
Work continues this morning.

Our Mayor and CEO of the Arboricultural Association, John Parker will be taking us on a tree walk during our Nature & Environment Day at 1pm on Sunday. Here he is at our last event monitoring our tree planting efforts! Glad to say they've been regularly watered (not just by the rain) so hopefully he'll have a few good words to say! Come and have a look at how they are doing and find out about few more interesting trees near our canalside space.

Ever wondered how fossils are formed?
At our Nature & Environment day, Sunday 7th June Gareth Beamish from Cotswold Voluntary Wardens will be exploring different types of fossils, explaining where to collect fossils and how to do it safely
There will be a Show and Tell – children are encouraged to bring in their own fossils to discuss. Have you got any you can bring?

It's soon to be Bubble and Brew o'clock. Tomorrow and Sunday from 10.30am. Come and join us for our meal deal and SpICE members get a discount so bring your card! Just £8 for any drink + any pastry + any sandwich with crisps! It's on while stocks last!

We are so looking forward to our next totally free event: Nature & Environment Day on Sunday 7th June from 11am til 3pm. Your plaques have now been mounted on our information board so please go and visit our community site. They are looking a little wet in this weather and may appreciate a gentle rub!
